@ESPNStatsInfo: Jason Kidd: 1st player to become head coach in season immediately after retirement since Mike Dunleavy (LAL, 1990-91). via @EliasSports
Fascinating. Is this a sign that Deron Williams is controlling the front office? I could see Kidd being a great coach or I could see it being a disaster. Kidd was basically a coach in the court the past few seasons. Literally. He invented a new position of dictating the offense and transition game without ever crossing the 3 point line. I loved how in 2011 there were reports of how Carlisle would let Kidd completely run the offense at the end of games, which was a big part why they were the best team in the league in close games those years. Then see how they fell off a cliff in the clutch this year. But how can Kidd translate his genius BBIQ to the players?
