The more I think about this, the less I know who to give it to. Duncan, Green, Leonard, and Parker could each justifiably be given the award, as of right now.

Perhaps if he'd shoot as well as Green, we wouldn't be having this conversation. The great ones find ways to score even in hardship.
quote:One of the biggest reasons for the long title drought is the failure to replace Bowen and Horry with competent clutch shooters in the playoffs. If Danny Green had shot this well last year then the Spurs would have beat OKC. This is a big deal and you'll need Green, Leonard and/or Neal for one more game.
Spur fans are just used to role players getting hot and hitting open 3's.

But playoffs shooting from role players is a whole different ball game. And the Spurs have a history with arguably the greatest ever role player/clutch 3 point shooter Horry. And they essentially replaced Horry with Matt Bonner, who has been great in the regular season. And replaced Bowen with Richard Jefferson /Roger Mason. Decent regular season players who shrank from the moment in the playoffs.
So it's a big deal what Green/Neal and Leonard are doing with Green being the most consistent at an historic level.

Spurs have always had guys that came up big in the playoffs from outside.
