Best Example: Wouldn't it have to be the Titans-Bills playoff game from '99, when the Bills kicked the alleged game-winning field goal in the final seconds, then Tennessee pulled off that miracle Wycheck-to-Dyson lateral play for the game-winning TD (on the kickoff, with no time remaining)? Not only was that a top-five Stomach Punch Game, it doubled as the greatest Gambling Moment of all-time (since Tennessee ended up covering by a half-point). That was un-beeeeeeeeeeeeeee-lievable.

Personal Memory: Magic draining that baby sky hook to topple the Celts in Game 4 of the '87 Finals, capping off a Celtics collapse and preceding Bird nearly saving the game at the buzzer (he missed a 25-foot prayer by about 1/100th of an inch). More than 20 years have passed and I still haven't fully recovered from that chain of events. Unreal.

Damn field goal last thanksgiving

Considering that in the end it cost us an appearance in the NC game, Im going w our loss to Florida last year when Sumlin called timeout just prior to a missed fieldgoal so they kicked it again and won.

To those citing the sip-A&M game from 2011, you realize that that game got Sherman's worthless ass out of here and got us a coach worth a damn/11 win season in the SEC/Heisman, no? Granted, at the time it was a huge kick in the nuts, but looking back on it I love the fact that we lost that game.

I went through this last year after the Grizzlies gave up the largest 4th quarter lead in their loss to the Clippers during the playoffs.
But that isn't the worst.

A bad one was the 1991 Houston Oilers playoff loss to John Elway in the final minutes. I believe they had over a two touchdown lead going into half in that game. But that isn't the worst.


The worst was a certain Houston Oilers playoff loss that I don't want to discuss. Frank Reich is all I'll say about that. I hate that I'm even thinking about those Oiler days.

Manu's foul on Dirk in the 2006 WCF was awful. Then to later find out the Maverick's had a mural of it on one of their locker room walls made it worse.

Last night was bad. But I have to wait until Thursday night, even though I have lost a lot of confidence, to proclaim it as one of the worse.

Im not sure anything else comes close to the epic blunders to throw away wins in those games.

I'd say last night is the top for me if the Spurs lose Game 7. If that happens, the loss ends one of the greatest modern sports eras on a down note instead of what should have been the riding off into the sunset moment for the Spurs' big 3.

If you're talking about the quintuple (sextuple?) OT loss to Baylor, that was in like 07 or 08.

It's worst when your team has a history of only failure, and they actually get to the point of possibly winning something meaningful they still find a way to lose.
