I don't even want to think about it right now, but if the Spurs pull it out in game 7 it will undoubtedly be the most hard-fought, and therefore most rewarding championship run I've ever seen, for any team.

Especially considering how they've had everything stacked against them -- a red-hot Warriors team, a Grizzlies team that most favored to beat them, and an "unstoppable" Heat team. And now considering how the Spurs managed to lose game 6...

2005 Spurs is a close second for me, though.

Disagree on stacked against them. Kobe, Westbrook, Curry, Lee, Galinari and Lawson all missed or were hobbled during the Western Conf playoffs.

This series reminds me a lot of the '05 Pistons series. A real slugfest of 2 strong teams where at times both of them completely dominated the other. Every time it looked like the Spurs or the Pistons were put away the momentum shifted again. Even at the end of Game 7 when the Spurs had it they almost gave it away at the very end.

Everyone seems to have forgotten that the predictions for Game 6 were a blowout win for Miami. As much as the Spurs wanted that game I really think the Spurs will take it as a mulligan. Those guys are a lot more mentally tough than the fans on this board.

Missing from this list is the tough win over a full strength #1 seed in the West, because it didn't happen. It's been a great run for the Spurs, but we as fans got robbed of an exciting series with the Thunder.

I'd put that 95 Rockets run up against just about anyone.

Shark is being a homer, only impressive series win would be beating the Heat. You missed out on Kobe, Westbrook, and played a hurt Warriors squad. Don't get me wrong, beating Miami in game 7 given what just happened would be the most impressive finals win since the Celts beat the Lakers in game 7 in 1969 behind Don Nelson.

For me, most impressive/improbable runs had to be 2011 Mavs or one of those mid 90s Rockets squads. Dallas was able to put Miami away and Houston overcame such adversity in both 94 and 95.

Probably, but you're forgetting how tough that Warriors series was. I think game 1 of that series will be an all-time Spurs classic.

2005

Down 3-2

Coming back and winning game six on the back of dirty Robert Horrey. That's my favorite.

This Miami run this year has been impressive too.
