Are we still in the Kobe-Duncan Era or have we fully moved on to the Lebron Era?

I think tonight's game seals it. So much at stake.

Oh it's the Lebron era. They blended into one another more than other eras though, that's for sure.

Previous 2 eras had a clear cutoff point:
Jordan era - 1991(first title) to 1998 (retirement)
Bird-Magic Era 1980 (rookie years, Finals MVP) to 1991 (AIDS)


When did the Kareem era begin and the Russell-Wilt era end? 1970 after Russell retired and Kareem dominated as a rookie or 1972 after Wilt won his last Finals MVP? Because Kareem had already won 2 MVPs and a title by 1972. We're at a similar historic crossroads in 2012 as we were in 72. Can the old guard extend the era or will we have a solid connection to the new era.

If the heat win then historically we'll look back as the Lebron era beginning with his first title in 2012. If the Spurs win then who knows when the Lebron era actually begins. Maybe he gets skipped over and we get the Durant era instead while Lebron gets caught in between eras like Shaq or Dr J

2009 was another pivotal year. What if Lebron beats Kobe for the title as he was favored to do?

1999-2007 - Shaq-Duncan Era
2008-present - Lebron era

The Lebron Media Dominating Era !!

1890-1956 - George Mikan era of who gives a ****
1956-1970 - Celtics Era
1971-1980 - Kareem Era
1980-1991 - Beginning of the modern era of basketball. Magic/Bird era. 1980 was both their rookie years, plus the first year with a three point line.
1991-1998 - Jordan Era
1998-2010 - Duncan/Kobe Era
2011- Current - The Decision Era

Its not officially the Lebron Era until it is past... but all signs point that direction unless Durant or someone else takes over...
