Dallas was down 3-1 with Dirk against SA. And now you are playing revisionist historian and saying Dallas was going to win the championship that year without Dirk.
No more revisionist than claiming the Spurs were 1 bounce away from a title in 04 and 06.

The Mavs without Dirk had a large 4th quarter lead in game 6, to the point where Kerr was brought in for the first time off the end of the bench. Game 7 the Spurs would have been favored but the Mavs had already won twice there. Which thread was it recently where you were trashing the 03 Spurs role players? So you would concede that the Mavs still had what 3-4 of the top 5 players in the series even without Dirk? Could have had another Joey Crawford style 50 free throw game. Then the nets in the Finals were horrible compared to the top 5 teams in the west. None of this is much worse than claiming the Spurs were 2 plays away from a 5 peat. Because being 1 game away from the finals against a scrub team is the same as being up 3-2 in round 2 with the 2 solid 1 seeds still to be played.

He was a 43% shooter all year. It wasn't reasonable to expect him to continue shooting 65%, but it wasn't reasonable expect him to fall under 10% either.

Why not?

That was rhetorical because you answered the question already...you said it yourself, he's a 43% shooter who averaged 65% in games 1-5, so statistically it IS REASONABLE to expect him to fall to 10%...that's the law of averages...

Kerr made three threes in the 4th quarter. When he hit the first one (with 7 minutes left in the game,) the game was tied 71-71.

Without Joey Crawford's help in turning game 1 into a FT shooting contest, the Spurs sweep the Mavs.

Keep trying. You will get something right someday.

Yeah Ulrich, because if you flip a coin 9 times and it comes up heads every time, the chances of it coming up heads the 10th time is 10%. Law of averages, *****!

In '06 it is true that SA had the ball with a chance to win. Manu missed an easy bucket there as well at the end of regulation. The point was that was MANU and not Duncan that blew it and it easily could have (and 9/10 would have) gone the Spurs way. Thus the bounce of the ball.
Wait, a 90% chance the Spurs win that game? Ginobili's foul occurred with like 20 seconds left. If he doesn't go for the foul than Mavs are down 1 with 2-3 more possessions. And Ginobili's last shot was a 50/50 contested runner. 90% really?

Misrepresenting how the end of the game played out - are you doing this from memory again or did you actually check the game log? Kerr entered the game near the end of the 3rd down 15. Spurs proceed to hit 8 3s in a row with Kerr going 4-4 and putting in the final dagger as his last 3 3s gave them separation from down 3 to up 8 in a 2 minute span.

And without a Jerry Stackhouse missed jumper the Mavs sweep the spurs in 06. You can play this game all day.

The person misrepresenting was you.

You said:

Kerr hit his first three in the 4th to tie it up. He hit two more to take the lead and extend the lead.

The Mavs collapsed. Kerr was just there to kick them while they were down. Mike and Nash couldn't do everything and Walt Williams was playing 40mpg.

So beyond ridiculous that a team featuring a 40mpg Walt Williams is a play from the title. The Mavs weren't close.

Kerr hit his first three near the end of the 3rd to help begin the run. Then he hit 3 in a row to tie and extend the lead as the Spurs finished with 8 straight 3s with Kerr on the court. From down 15 to up 8 spanning from near end of 3rd to near the end of 4th.
