I think he used to play at NC State about a decade ago. Bounced around with several teams but he's spent most of his time overseas. Just added depth I guess.

No. Head to head is a split, next tiebreaker is Conference record, which only seems to help the team in the weaker conference.

Let's not sleep on Portland but this matchup combination definitely give us the best chance at reaching WCF or even the Finals.

Spent the last hour looking at stats of Portland and Houston. Some pretty interesting stuff. LMA averages about 3 more points and 3 more rebounds against us than the rest of the NBA. Read an article that said we would throw Asik on him if Jones can't handle him early. Asik will have to keep up so he doesn't hold us down on offense though.

It just seems that LMA goes for like 25/18 regardless of how we play him. I'm fine with him getting his as long as Bev stays in Lillard's head and we actually defend the wings 3s. How we defend Matthews and Batum along with rebounding battle will be key to this series.

Not sure if anyone watched Bill Simmons's playoff videos, but I strongly encourage you all go watch the one where he talks about the Rockets. He made a good point, and I agree, that we didn't give the Asik-Howard combo enough time. Really think we should revisit it. I like these two lineups more than the traditional one we've been using:

1. Bev-Harden-Parsons-Howard-Asik

2. Bev-Daniels-Harden-Parsons-Howard

The problem with the asik and Howard combo is that our offense was horrendous with both of them on the floor

The defense is also total hot garbage without one of Howard/Asik in the lineup. If they're starting together, then there would be lengthier stretches without either of them as they get rest during the game.

What if we just do it in like 8-10 increments? Take Asik out at the 4 minute mark in the 1st, play Dwight the whole quarter, bring Asik in at the start of the 2nd, and repeat.

Minutes-wise, that sounds pretty close to what's happening now...he gets about 20 minutes or so a game on average. I guess Terrence Jones comes off the bench in your scenario if the two of them start together?

Against certain teams, playing them at the same time isn't a bad idea...Memphis comes to mind because of Gasol and Randolph, plus Memphis' bench isn't all that prolific if you decide to rest them simultaneously.

Had Greg Smith panned out as a serviceable backup PF/C, it's possible that Howard/Asik playing together more might've happened.
