His efficiency boggles the mind. This is the 7th consecutive year that his FG% has improved.

He got it all out last night & didn't save any for tonight against the #RedNation. We good

Kobe and MJ each did it 5 times.

Wilt did it 32 times.



It has happened twice this season (Carmelo in MSG). Both times against the Bobcats.

I wonder if anyone has ever scored 60 points on fewer than 33 shots before?


The answer is yes, multiple times. But all of them had significantly more FT trips that Lebron did.

It has been done 5 times since 1985. I don't think they kept field goal attempts before that. Bryant twice, Malone, Gilbert Arenas, and Tom Chambers.

Sidebar: I looked MJ's box scores, and in one game he had 69 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals with only 2 turnovers and 37 field goal attempts. I've probably heard that before, but it's pretty jarring to see in a box score.

For Joe Fulks record breaking 63 points in 1949: "Pre-shot clock era; set a then-record for points in a game. Fulks played all except the final minute of the game before the smallest crowd of the season at Philadelphia Arena. Only 1,500 fans showed up because of a transportation strike that was due to go into effect at midnight." (Versus the Indianapolis Jets).

For George Mikan's 61 points in 1952, it is kinda cool to see the box score in basketball reference.
