Irony.

MJ woulda gutted it out, Lebron. Or at least drank more Gatorade. Is there an app for Lebron dehydration?

That was only one win. Just like the Pacers won game 1. But this one was pretty sweet. 23 Spurs turnovers and Miami canned 12 treys: still a Spurs W.

NICE TO HAVE DEPTH.

MJ wouldn't have gutted this out. Ask any high level athlete and they would all rather have the flu than leg cramps. For someone that has virtually zero body fat, his leg was essentially useless. I get that its funny because it happened to Lebron, but if that happened to any other player on the court, they would have been done for the night.

So Marko, why didn't any of the older guys have the same problem? Are you saying LeBron was TOO in shape?

Lebron has a history of this happening, so it isn't just a fluke deal associated with the heat. As soon as the AC goes off, he needs to realize it's time to drink more gatorade. Heck, the trainers should have had IVs for him at halftime with his history. This was 100% preventable if he took care of himself.

I guess all the other elite athletes on the floor, you know the ones that Lebron is supposed to be superior to, are immune to the conditions? When you have 38 year old duncan, one ankle parker and dough boy diaw all playing similar minutes with no problems the excuse loses credibility.

No, I'm not saying that at all. What I'm saying is the more muscle mass you have, the worse cramps are going to be. I don't know why Lebron has issues with cramps, but he does. Maybe he doesn't drink enough, maybe he doesn't stretch enough, or maybe its just random. Isaiah Thomas is talking about it right not on Mike and Mike. Nobody is going to play through those types of cramps, including Jordan.

The Spurs have a BENCH. Miami goes how His Highness goes, and he has to be on the floor more.

I completely agree there is no playing through those cramps once they start. The thing to do is get rehydrated/stretch or even better stay hydrated throughout. They should be pumping IVs through him before the game, while he sits on the bench and between quarters. To act like this is unpreventable defies science.

Oh, and for the record, the 1980s Celtics and Lakers at times played in hotter conditions in the old, unairconditioned Boston Garden.

I wish there wasn't an extra day off before Game 2.

Stop it! Nobody, including Jordan, Bird or anybody could play with severe cramps. The Spurs organization and fans should be embarassed that their arena didn't have AC for a NBA Finals game.

As a Heat fan, I'm even more confident that the Heat can win this series the way they were playing before the cramps. Heat in 6

You mean the Spurs being up by two when Bron was carried to the bench, despite 20+ turnovers and key role players like Green, Leonard and Diaw going something like 1-12 at one point. Or how about Duncan and Splitter destroying the Heat down low to the tune of 35 points on 14 of 16 shooting all of which were pretty much dunks and layups. Yea, I would feel real good about things if I was a heat fan.

The best athlete in the world not taking care of himself in a finals game, despite his past history of cramps should be the bigger embarassment.

I'm not embarrassed. It sucked, but **** happens. The Super Bowl losing total power was way worse than this. No team benefited from the AC being out.

LeBron maybe couldn't have played through it, but he needs to do something different if cramping is such a problem. Cramps are pretty preventable if you're diligent about it.

This one is on the Heat and LeBron for not hydrating. IVs exist for a reason. Athletes often use IVs to rehydrate during half times of their events. I believe MJ used An IV during his magical game.

Lebron also played all 12 minutes of the 1st Quarter, that decision clearly was a mistake. They should have rested and hydrated him early and often just like the Spurs did with faster rotations of their players. By the time the 4th came around he was done and the cramps kicked in.

An NBA game is a marathon more than a sprint and even moreso in conditions like last night.

Lol at people wondering if LeBron drinks enough water and was stretching enough. Some people just get awful cramps. No matter how much you prepare for them, they still coming. Although I admit it's way more fun to call him a pvssy and say he's mentally weak so I applaud people going that route as well.

It's not just about water. It's also about electrolytes. If you sweat a bunch, you better be drinking more than just water.

Cramps are preventable even if everyone is affected differently. You just have to know how your body will react and the ways to properly prevent it.

The King should have chugged a bottle of Brawndo at halftime. It's got electrolytes. Hopefully, he's learned his lesson.

Please explain how more muscle mass leads to worse cramps?
