What Cuban investigators?

What really interests me is that Jordan is an 80% owner of the Hornets.

You know he has made comments the NBA doesn't want publicized.

But what if they can uncover proof that Jordan was betting on Bulls games and Stern knew?

Peter Holt should be worried. There's plenty of evidence of his players sexually assaulting the Miami Heat

Donald Sterling threatening the two doctors that found him mentally incompetent.

I still don't understand how that happened. Did they do an actual evaluation in person or were these just two dudes she knows and got their consent in order to try to get that court order passed? Thats pretty messed up if it's the second one.

I heard a taking head on the radio say his understanding is that they started asking Sterling questions that were unusual for a checkup and he was like wtf and refused to answer them.

Unusual for a check-up for a psychiatry/neurology visit? The doctors he is threatening are a psychiatrist and a neurologist, and mental capacity is generally something that they will assess for during check ups. Now whether they were put up to it is a different story.

I would say there is a possibility they were unusual. If these were guys that he saw regularly I'm not sure why they would've decided to test him for dementia. Thats not necessarily something you do unless you have reason to suspect it, like you've been having problems forgetting where you are etc. Maybe the wife called ahead and claimed he was so they started the eval without knowing his wife hates his guts and had ulterior motives...

Dementia screening is fairly common for geriatric patients, but it is true that if he was a regular with them, it would seem odd to start screening him without provocation. Nevertheless, anything during an interview could lead them to believe doing a mental status exam was necessary regardless of whether he was a regular. I will admit, this is strange timing, however.

First probate hearing is today.

Donald is trying to drag it out because he has some world famous dementia guy whose name is escaping me at the moment that can't be there until late July. Shelly wants it to be finished quickly and is asking for it to be expedited.

"He has told me he doesn't think if Mr. Sterling remains that he wants to continue as coach. He's told me that at least three times."

Parsons said it would be "a disaster" if Rivers leaves.

"Doc is the father figure to the team," Parsons testified. "Chris Paul is the on-court captain, but Doc is the leader, the coach, the grownup, a man of inestimable character and ability, not only a brilliant basketball coach but a man who really connects with people. He's a man the players believe in and admire."

Amazing that Sterling is on the cusp of destroying the only run of bright promise that franchise has ever had.

What a moron that dude is.

While I hate Sterling and think he is a complete scumbag there is still a part of me that is actually rooting for him to win, at least win in some way. I have a real problem with the idea that what you say or think can have your business torn from you the way it was. Had he gone out and raped the girl I don't know that the NBA would have acted as quickly as they did with so much finality. In the end it was just a private conversation that was recorded and he got no real due process.

Political correctness is a dangerous thing. It is unfortunate that there will be a lot of collateral damage from this any way it turns out but still I think Sterling has a very strong case for being treated very unfairly. It was a private conversation and it was his team. The NBA wanted so badly to move swiftly and appease the masses that they ignored his rights. While I despise Sterling and what he said and thinks that doesn't mean he shouldn't have rights.

I'm with aggie93. I'm not a fan of Sterling, but the way this went down still really bothers me. Also, all this talk of boycotting is annoying the crap out of me. You are going to ruin the best thing going in history for this franchise and punish the fans to prove a point? Give me a break. Especially when the nba is doing everything in their power to help you and public opinion is firmly in your court.

If this were a criminal trial, I'd agree with you guys (the two posts above me). But considering the NBA is essentially a "club" and the other members of the club can choose to disapprove of your membership based on your behavior, I don't think its PC gone amok. It's a case of you've disgraced yourself and your co-workers (in this case co-owners and coaches and athletes) can no longer coexist with you. Its like getting fired. You don't have to commit a criminal act to get fired. And your employer doesn't have to offer you a fair severance package either.

That's true to an extent but Silver was so fervent about getting rid of Sterling as fast as possible that he bent the rules. They should have had a real investigation and a vote of the owners and taken it a step at a time. Instead, Silver kicked him out for life and then worked with his estranged wife to sell the team out from under him. He is still a member of that "club" with rights and he has rights as the owner of his property.

I think the result would have been the same and certainly agree Sterling has no business owning an NBA franchise but that doesn't mean he shouldn't have his rights respected. The NBA went about this the wrong way and worse than that they left Sterling with a strong case and very little to lose by fighting them tooth and nail.

The "protests" are annoying the crap out of me. Noone is actually going to sit out if he is still the owner and forfeit their millions of dollars. They are just saying it now bc they think it makes them sound good and bc they think he will not be the owner. For this reason alone, I hope that he is still the owners, just to prove that these players and coaches don't mean what they are actually saying.

And Doc and CP3 need to shut the **** up. They knew who he was when they signed and had no problem taking money from him. But now that the majority of the public knows what a piece of crap Sterling is, they act like they can't work for him any longer. All the players need to shut the **** up and quit offering empty protest promises.
