I think the idea is that they all take lower salaries to bring in another guy. Even if they don't, they still get to go the finals easily. Maybe they'll get lucky and find a cold shooting Thunder when they get there.

Yeah, they all suck. They've made four straight finals and proven they can beat anyone, but they all suck. I'm not saying they'll ever be as good as they were, but saying that everyone besides Lebron and Chalmers sucks is kind of overkill. I mean, Lewis sank 6 3's in one game and hit them consistently later in the series, and Ray Allen is extremely consistent shooting 3's. Bosh comes up with some really clutch plays as well.

Wade, however, is the most lazy overrated player on the team. He needs to go.

Either way, Lebron will find a degree of success wherever he goes. I don't think it's possible for you not to win games with him on the team. Winning championships is another story, though. He actually needs some solid teammates for that.

I'm kind of surprised that they are considering dismantling after four straight finals appearances. Work out your weaknesses, but don't throw away something good. They've obviously been doing something right. Just need to work on defense and get Wade to step it up

The problem with this idea is that it's not like they weren't focused or something. They would dial it in and play out of their minds and barely make a dent. Some people cry matchup, but I think OKC beats them without much fuss and several other Western teams take them to 7 if not win outright. Either San Antonio is truly 15 ppg better than the rest of the NBA or Miami is a loooooong way from winning another title.

Miami's problem is that all those players who helped them get those titles are old or gone. They don't have the legs to play on both ends anymore. One player can have a throwback season, maybe two if they are Duncan and Ginobili, but a whole team can't pull it off. Rashard Lewis, Ray Allen, Birdman, Udonis Haslem, Oden (he's in his 60s in knee years), James Jones... nope. Wade isn't that old but his legs are clearly gone; they already tried resting him a ridiculous amount and he turned in an incredibly lazy defensive performance while his team was embarrassed.

That's not something you fix by jogging a few more laps in the offseason and trying harder on defense.

To be fair, Spurs might actually have been during that playoff run.

Yea. No team was going to stop them after the Dallas series.

D Wade sucks and if he keeps his 40M no way Lebron stays. Wade is not Wade anymore.

Bron isnt going to a team that is ultra top heavy with no role players or bench that can help him out.

So that rules out Miami?

The timing is interesting on this.
Imagine if Wade announced he was opting in, and then LeBron announced he was opting out.

My favorite part of Miami's plan is going after Shabazz Napier. Some 23 year old scrub, shamelessly dominating college is going save the team and make the difference in the finals.

I think LeBron leaves Miami if Wade and Haslem don't opt out.

Wade and Bosh have until Monday to opt out. Not sure about Haslem.
