I also think 'Bron was turned off by Riley doing his post-season rant about sticking around when things get tough. Maybe LeBron took that personally and thought he should go back to Cleveland.



Riley & ownership screwed the pooch on the way they handled this, starting last year when they waived LBJ's friend Mike Miller to save a few bucks and not thinking he was effective.

I'm glad he went back and I liked the way he did it. I know he has PR people advising him on things but I think a lot of this came down to Lebron being more mature today than he was last time he was a free agent.

I think LeBron's plan was always to return after they filled the roster.

LeBron knew that as long as he was on the roster the Cavs would never pick high and could never fit in a good free agent. Their only path to the top was for LeBron to leave for a while and he knew that. Gilbert may not have had the vision but LeBron knew his leaving meant 3 or 4 years of really high picks.

With lebron, melo, and bosh the wives tell them where to go. The wife also drives a lot of the choice of teammates as well. For example melo will never play on a team with garnett because garnett told melo his wife tasted like cheerios.

So lebron had his wife saying they were going home and it was made easy because the team is loaded with talent. Easy choice. Lala loves new York so melo will stay. Bosh's wife hates houston. Hates it. Houston was never a real option.
