Philly, or anybody else, tanking for first pick is a waste. Duncan was the last first overall to win title with the team that drafted him. Before that was Robinson and Hakeem. First overall is insanely overrated.

I would hope that would be the case.

Heavy sarcasm. He's a pure Spur prospect. Not a great athlete but elite at all the things the Spurs value. Gives the Spurs great flexibility with Bonner/Diaw both if they stay or not and also as a long term replacement. He could also be very valuable if Manu and Parker need rest or go down while Mills may be gone. Love having a 6'9 guy that can bring the ball down the court.

The Spurs are cornering the market on elite passers that can hit open shots while the rest of the league is focusing on athleticism. The ball is still faster than any athlete.

Anderson: sounds like early-career Bo Diaw

The Spurs didn't take 3 americans. They traded the 58th and 60th pick for the 54th pick and drafted Nemanja Dangubic in the second round.

From a Spurs standpoint I like what OKC did. I don't think think they helped themselves much. They drafted a PF and a defensive minded SF. Good players I'm sure but not what they needed to help them improve. This is what the NBA.com analysis said of their second pick. Reminds me of: Thabo Sefolosha
