He was getting a max deal from the Mavs. Who cares if his agent was buddies with Cuban. His agent still negotiated a max deal with terms that were agreeable to DJ. Many agents are good buddies with owners and players know those relationships can work in their benefit just as easy.

Yes, I would call the guy that offered to give me $80m. It's Cuban's job to do everything he can to get the agent on his side to help his case. DJ probably has every right to be pissed at his agent if he didn't think his agent was looking out for his best interests, but Cuban was doing what every owner should be doing.
