Espn laid out tonight 3 ways LeBron could go to the Rockets. They all started with him signing his tender.

No chance of that happening unless GS gives Curry away. NOLA would have to be mentally ill to consider any deal with GS.

....well New Orleans/David Stern did trade Chris Paul and two second round picks to the Los Angeles Clippers for Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu and Minnesota's unprotected 2012 first round pick.

Rumor here in Cleveland is that LeBron in going to LA and taking PG13 with him

LA is the last place he should go. Not beating GS there.

Not trying to be Debbie Downer, but realize that's probably more of a possibility than Lebron actually landing in Houston.

Depends on where you look. Some have the Lakers as #1.

I think LA will be his first choice too. But not sure he goes there if they can't get a 3rd star somehow.

Kuzman, Ingram, & Randle are nice pieces. You keep them with LeBron & Paul George and I think you have a team that can win 60 games. You would need a PG who can shoot a little and pass. Maybe Ball would be that guy, maybe not.

What? Lakers are the favorite to land Lebron. If that happens, I think there's a good shot CP3 is a laker next season and Brandon Ingram or Lonzo or some players like that are Rockets.

I also wouldn't sleep on him staying with the Cavs. They have some sneaky bullets to offer to retool quickly if they'd like.

The best thing that could happen for us is if PG stays in OKC. LeBron won't go to LA without an all star and OKC will never be a threat to us since Westbrick is the #1 option. What we don't need is a massive concentration of talent in one spot like LA getting Kawhi, PG and LeBron.

Hard to blame Bron on going to LA to get the chance to play with Alex Caruso.

If its all about beating GS he has two choices. Houston and Philly. If its about building a championship calibre team over 4-5 years and bring LA back to its glory days that might play better for his legacy long term, but he is not beating a Seth, Durant GS until that team starts to break apart.

I don't think there's another options besides Houston to take down the Warriors, pending more movement. Philly is solid and has a bunch of young talent, but I don't think it's enough to get more than a game or two from the Warriors.

I had seen it last week when we were the favorites, but should know better than to just assume that stayed the same

Boston's been talked about. 3 way trade with the Knicks.

Knicks get Kyrie Irving
Cavaliers get picks, assets
Celtics get Lebron

I think that would get him a better shot at the Warriors than the Rockets. Best coach in the league, potential at the best record in the NBA (depending on schedule).... coast to the Finals through the East.

I just cannot picture LeBron in a Laker uniform. If he finally makes a move to the West it will be with Houston or maybe even San Antonio. If he stays in the East I am guessing it will be Philly or remain in Cleveland. He knows his main competition in the East is Boston, and it will only get tougher with Hayward and Kyrie back. Obviously in the West he would need to join a team that can beat the Warriors in a 7 game series. Houston was probably a CP3 hamstring away from the Finals. At this point everything is just wild a** speculation, but hopefully we hear something soon. He has until late June to decide on his player option. Moratorium is July 1-6 I believe. Then trades can become official.

I think people are underselling what having Lebron means to a team.

Case in point: think about how ****ty the Cavs sans Lebron. Then you realize that even as bad as that team was, they'd have probably beaten every team in the West not named the Warriors or Rockets.

Make no mistake: if he goes to the Lakers and brings PG3 and likely another superstar with them, they magically probably become the 2nd best if not the best team overnight.

I wanted to double check but here are the dates:

June 21 - Draft
June 29 - Last day for decisions on player, team and early termination options, unless contract specify otherwise.
June 30
  • Last official day of the 2017/18 NBA league year.
  • Last day for teams to make qualifying offers to players eligible for restricted free agency.
July 1
  • Official start of the 2018/19 NBA league year.
  • July moratorium begins.
  • Free agents can begin reaching verbal agreements with teams.
  • Restricted free agents can sign an offer sheet.
  • Teams can begin signing players to rookie scale contracts, minimum salary contracts, and two-way contracts.
July 6
  • July moratorium ends (11:00am CT)
  • Teams can begin officially signing players, extending players, and completing trades.
  • The two-day period for matching an RFA offer sheet signed during the moratorium begins.

Oh I definitely agree. No matter where LeBron goes he turns that team into a contender. Partly because he is the best player in the NBA, and partly because he will have a say in who he plays with. Out of all the rumored options the only one I really struggle with is LA. I know he could bring some friends with him, but in my own personal opinion, right or wrong, I feel like that puts him in Kobe's shadow.
