Regardless of outcome we cannot not sign CP3 now, but it is a poor long term investment. He's going to break down and decline. He's already 33 with 12 years or wear. He's going to want a 5 year deal when really we'll need to sign him to a 2 year deal at best for the Rockets best interest. But that is for the offseason. We got game 6 to win.

I agree with you, both of that it's a terrible investment and that it's a conversation for the offseason but I'm afraid Morey may have made a handshake deal with him already.

Remember, he opted in to the final year of his contract and waived a +15% trade kicker to make the deal work. I have to think there was some sort of verbal commitment on our end to make that happen. And while a handshake isn't enforceable, how many future free agents do you think we are going to get it if we raw deal a guy like Paul?

I think for better or for worse we are riding with CP3 and the best bet is to try to get him to lose some weight and go late career Grant Hill level on taking care of his body.

I like Ackerman as well, but I would be lying if I said that I didn't miss the styling of Gene Pederson, man I could just hear him jawing with officials and Green during this series. He had some unbelievable calls during the Rockets 90's run, especially with the refs, incredible.

I think you've got to finish them in Gm 6. If Paul is 75% or better he plays.

Gm 7s are such a crap shoot and anything can happen.

I think GS is reeling right now. The Rockets have played them very physical and you can tell it's made them very uncomfortable and ineffective. It's taking it's toll on them physically and mentally. The don't really have an answer right now.

Which is why I think the Rockets can win with a less effective and maybe even without Paul. If they were in a spot where they needed to outscore GS I'd say there's no chance they win without Paul, but I think Tucker, Gordon, Ariza, and James can play them hard and physical and grind one out.

I don't think I've loved a rockets player as much as I love CP3

I'm not believing what anyone says until there's an official word.

For someone who just likes watching the playoff dynamics and has no horse in the race, this adds a ton of intrigue to the series.

GSW aren't obtuse enough to think that CP3 injury guarantees them a damn thing.

HOU has their mind right and won't be rattled.

All that said...I think its very possible Rockets fans will look back at 5-24-18 and wonder what might have been if the hamstring doesn't pull. I'd place my chips on GSW winning the next two.

The good news for HOU...state bragging rights for what appears to be quite the near future. San Antonio floundering in the Leonard mess while this HOU team just looks primed to be stay competitive for the West.

I have a strange feeling that James will drop 40 in the next game and his hard work and extra hours that he put in will pay off. Just a gut feeling.

James and Gordon play well in the same game, Luc and/or Ryno give us SOMETHING, and we got it.

Gordon is averaging 22 points/4 assists in 30 games as a starter this season

I want Chris on the bench in oracle in case things start going wrong. His leadership is the greatest intangible for this team.

Game 6 is a loss. Hope he's back for game 7

Have to assume he won't be ready for game 7 either since they are so close.
