I agree. But I think losing both Anderson and Green is killing us. Of course we also lost Manu and Murray. Add in Kawhi and we lost every good perimeter defender on the team. Offense is not the issue.

Yea his usage is pretty low. But then again what are Bertans and Marco giving us?
Bertans about the same points in half the minutes with a 3FG% over 40. Marco is giving us points, just not efficiently.

I don't think losing Anderson is a big deal.

Green is playing great. We have no ball handler after losing Murray, Manu, Parker.

Huge drop on defense and no one that can create.

This team is in need of a good, versatile defender the most. Anderson is a great passer, too. We might be a good three point shooting team, but we are near the bottom in attempts.

This team is in need of a good, versatile defender the most. Anderson is a great passer, too. We might be a good three point shooting team, but we are near the bottom in attempts.
I think Gay doesn't come back if we have Anderson.

Got to watch the Portland in person last night. I haven't had a chance to look at the box score yet but seemed like the Spurs has their best night finding the open look and also shooting the ball. Some really great cuts resulting in easy buckets which are something the Spurs haven't been getting a lot of this season.

Another stinker of a game. Marco shouldn't be in the NBA. And the Spurs still don't know how to play defense.

One positive, Poeltl is looking a lot better.

Years of drafting at the end of the first round, combined with Kawhi's departure, are coming home to roost. Spurs lack talent. Aldridge and DeRozan are the only players they have who would start for a good team.

It is what it is. Every other franchise has gone through some version of this in the last 20 years. Time to tear it down, start trying to build it back through the draft.

Yall do realize our two most talented picks of the last few years are injured. Murray and Walker. White, Forbes and Poeltl look like solid bench players. It just hurts when they all have to play starter minutes.

I'm looking forward to see what Walker can add. They need someone who can really play defense to step up.

I'd hate to see the playoff streak end. But if it does, I'd feel pretty good about the Spurs winning the lotto and getting a new franchise player. That's the way we roll.

As long as Patty and Forbes are getting significant rotation minutes, this team is going to get mauled.

Spurs have two midgets out there in the backcourt who can't cover anyone and who don't score enough to make their opponents pay at the other end.

Forbes going nuclear in summer league a few years back is one of the worst things to happen to this team - Pop thinks he's got a poor man's Steph Curry in the works, and really Forbes is just a poor man.

So you believe Forbes would be playing over Murray and Walker? Maybe Pop knows what he has and he's making due. Remember that White was slated as the game one starter before he also got hurt.

That all being said, to say Forbes development is a bad thing is just dumb. He's a very good shooter. In a backup roll coming in to hit some shots he'd be very good. Every team values guys like this.

I don't think Walker would be getting much NBA playing time regardless, and likely would have spent a great deal of time in Austin just like Murray did his first year. But in an ideal world Forbes is not starting or playing 30 minutes a night.

Murray was joining a veteran team. On this team, Walker is going to play.

The more I think about it, the more I think it makes sense to tank. I get it's early in the season and it's not profitable for the franchise to miss the playoffs but we have a unique opportunity (if you want to call it that) to have a season without DJ (who was poised to have a breakout season after coming off an all-defensive season). We can also be extremely cautious with Walker, make sure he's 100% for next year and season White, Forbes, and Poeltl with big minutes. A team lead by Pop would never purposely do this, but they may not have to. If we can swing a top 10 pick we would be in good shape going forward.

Lonnie had a nice game last night for the Austin spurs with 24 pts on 10-19 shooting with only 1 turnover. Might not being saying much as White looked like a world beater in the D League but the kid looks smooth. Hopefully he can stay healthy.

I hope they keep that 4th qtr energy throughout this homestand. Six games at home could be just what they need to get more consistent.

I'd like to see some defensive improvement tonight. Played the Jazz less than a week ago and gave up 139. Team should play better at home but need to make some significant strides on D end tonight against Utah.

They played really good defense in the first half. Had a lapse in the 3rd qtr but held them under 100.

White hasn't shot the ball well this year but his passing and IQ have really impressed me. His defense has also improved a lot over the last few weeks.
