I'm not gonna panic. We looked good defensively tonight and have improved in every game so far this season. When everyone is healthy and suspension free we'll be fine. Remember when we lost 5 in a row last year between Christmas and New Year's? We came back strong after we got everyone back and we'll do the same this year.

Poster was trying to say the pats just dominate and win every year in the playoffs. While they are dominate I don't think it's like bama or gs

I was comparing the lack of parity in the NBA to CFB and the NFL. Yes, the eagles beat the Pat's last year but over the last few years in these 3 leagues there hasn't been much change at the top. MLB is the only league that's had a different champion each of the last 5 years.

MLB has the worst playoff format. NFL has a pretty bad one too. I think baseball would need a best of 23 or perhaps even more to find the "best" team in a playoff format. Alternatively you could go a straight league table format like European soccer leagues. NFL has one game "series" so its not very meaningful either.

CFB severely limits the number of teams who get in so that helps and the NBA has an unforgiving sample size.

What you're seeing as "parity" is merely random chance manifest. If the NBA had a ONE game playoff per round, you'd see a lot of different champs. If CFB had 16 team playoff, I'd expect the same.

It comes down to a fundamental philosophical question of what is the goal of a playoff? Is it finding the best team (baseball and the NFL do an awful job of this) or is it maximizing entertainment through random chance (NBA is abysmal and CFB is pretty bad at this).
