Marc Gasol to Toronto for JV, Miles, Wright and a 2nd. What a wild trade deadline.

This will be first time ever that the Memphis Grizzlies won't have the rights to a Gasol or have one on the roster.

This announcer announced a few weeks ago that he was in Ghostbusters (the funny version). See if you can find him (from the credits).

People were skeptical, until someone on Reddit found the video.

I sports hate Wade, but I love it when pro athletes actually get excited about plays like this.

Adam Silver (from Sloan) says many players are generally unhappy.

In his observations and meetings with players, Silver said he has discovered there are pervasive feelings of loneliness and melancholy across the league.

"If you're around a team in this day and age, there are always headphones on,'' Silver said. "[The players] are isolated, and they have their heads down.''

Referencing a conversation he had with a superstar ahead of the second game of a back-to-back earlier this season, Silver said the player's unhappiness and isolation were "to the point where it's almost pathology.''

"He said to me, 'From the time I get on the plane to when I show up in the arena for the game, I won't see a single person,' '' Silver relayed. "There was a deep sadness around him.''

So the league is struggling with the loneliness and despair created by social media and technology that everyone else in society is also feeling.

This is not surprising other than the fact that Silver would even talk about it.

I'm not sure what Ibaka was so upset about

Prolly the staredown by Chriss combined with the "embarrassment" of ending up on the ground.

That's should be a long suspension for ibaka. Doesn't exactly improve the Raptor's chances of keeping Kawhi.

So Westbrook went off on a fan and also included his 'wife' (actually was his girlfriend).

He's getting all the media defense this morning, but during postgame he said the guy told him to 'get on his knees' and Westbrook said that was racial. What's racial about that comment? I get the homosexual angle but not racial.

Here's the fan's side of it:

I even heard on CBS sports radio this morning the idiot host said "why did 'they' even interview the fan for his take" as if actually reporting on the story is somehow the wrong thing to do.

Sounds like Westbrook feels fine hitting women, probably done it before.

They are saying Ibaka will get a 3-5 game suspension. That seems pretty light.

1) You didn't post the full quote; Russ is alleging that the fan yelled "Get on your knees like you used to" <-- the end of that is where i can see a 'slave' connotation.

2) The fan's twitter account has been identified and he literally has a 'go back to where you came from #MAGA' tweet.

So what we have is a white guy in Utah who is clearly a racist, allegedly shouting things with racist connotation.

Anyone else take the "get on your knees" meant he sucks/sucked at first? Like a phallic object.

Lord knows now.

1) I thought it was like 'you're' used to, which would still imo be a sexual reference.

2) Didn't see the twitter account was found when I posted this morning...

I still want to hear audio of his **** talking because if he didn't say what Russ claims he did and he did say what he claims, then his twitter account means absolutely nothing with regards to context.

We can debate intent all we want, but the character of that individual's tweets dont lend credence to me giving him the benefit of a doubt.

Yes, audio would be nice, but absent that....it's not shocking to see a white jazz fan with racist tweets be accused of yelling something racist. Wouldnt be enough to convict him in a criminal court, but the character portrayal is pretty damning.

Edit, woah something happened to my text. Where'd it go?

Back to what I said...can we give Russ the benefit of the doubt given his (even recent) troubles with fans? I likely agree the dude said way more than he's claiming, I just want to hear the actual altercation.

Hate that we have gone to a place in society where if someone does something dumb in their own personal life, that people seek out to destroy that person's entire existence by trying to get them fired, invading that personal life, etc.

Russ is certainly combative and antagonistic, but there's nothing that i've seen to suggest that he's a liar or race baiter.

On the flip side, this fan has clearly shown his true colors.

It's really not a debate for me as to which side in this 'he-said/he-said' situation I'd take. Maybe Russ misheard, but that fan 100% sucks regardless.

He publicly tweeted that...under his real name. That's not some form of e-bullying and it's entirely relevant to the incident. Maybe we as a society should be more careful about the way we use social media to post racist thoughts?

It's a dumbass who said something (possibly) at a basketball game that went over the line. That means we need to dig up everything we can find on him including his employer and then start leading social media campaigns to get him fired?

I'd argue that's much more of a stain on society than his stupid tweets.

Hearing now the Twitter information about the pilot is fake... so I'm sure the real truth about all of this and whether or not the fan is a bigot will be here eventually. Lies lies everywhere.

Of course not. But there should certainly be accountability for what someone posts online. Anyone who joins in on the mob mentality is not helping a problem. I'm not advocating for the guy to get fired.

It's really not that hard;
Russ was seen on TV yelling at a fan that he'll '**** up you and your wife' ...any rational person is going to go, 'hey Russ, why are you threatening to beat up a man and his wife?"

Russ says the fan yelled something racist. The fan willingly stays after the game to get interviewed and provides his real name. Someone out there googles the name, finds his account and finds a tweet that specifically tells WESTBROOK to go back to where he came from. Like, that is racist and it's specific to russ. It's 100% relevant and isn't some masterclass of doxing.

The incident and his Twitter feed are both irrelevant to his career and people had to go digging elsewhere to find out who he was and where he worked so they could extract millennial Justice in trying to get him fired

Yes, some people are cruel and thirsty for blood. And all of that is a totally separate issue that has nothing to do with what he said to Westbrook.

lol you're losing focus of the context; this is a he said/he said situation....1 person has an established history of racist remarks aimed specifically AT Westbrook. That context is important to whether I should give this fan the benefit of the doubt or not. It's really not that hard.
