They would offer regardless, but they'd be just hoping either way. They will max what they can, but if he insists on playing in CA...

Why? With Klay on the court you get a Steph game like this. It may be a bit better than tonight on average but raptors were horrid to begin this game too so it evens out. I don't think holding him out of G3 was a major deal considering Steph went for 47 and had 16 points scored off his assists.

Warriors are getting beat by a better defensive team that is also healthier.

This team was absolutely dominant before signing Durant. They look like crap without him now. Thought they could rest Klay and still be fine. **** that franchise. It's about time a team finally stands up to them.

The price for getting Durant was gutting their bench.

The team that gets the most easy shots wins. For a while the warriors broke the NBA because they made contested 25 footers easy shots. Now, without Durant, they are a couple banged up jump shooters and a bunch of spare parts.

I thought I saw a presser before game 3 where Klay said risking aggravating the injury in game 3 was not wise. I'm sure he wanted to play in the same way Looney wanted to play tonight. But I don't think it's obvious that he's second guessing that call based on the result tonight.

The Warriors haven't had an answer for Kahwi and how Leonard affects the rest of the D. If there's something to be pissed at it's the whole team's inability to get stops in the second half.

Knowing who he is as a team player, he will be an even bigger ***** and join the Raptors this offseason.

Eh you can't seriously argue that the Warriors are better without Klay (assuming he was physically able to play at near full strength). Who knows what would've happened in game 3. Maybe Curry would still have been on fire and scored 35-40 and Thompson would've scored another 30. The Warriors had no scoring threat besides Curry in game 3. Maybe they don't win that game even with Klay. It's impossible to really argue either way.

The fact is they thought they'd be fine resting him for a game, and now they're down 3-1. I guarantee Klay is ticked off he was forced to sit game 3.

I hav no remorse with Golden State and their injuries. They have faced many teams in the playoffs during their reign with injures. There's the Spurs, Rockets, Portland and pretty sure I'm forgetting other teams with injuries.

I truly think the energy that the Warriors had to expend against the Clippers and Rockets along with just the fact that they've played so many extra games over the last 5 years has caught up to them. They look exhausted and have no energy. This really feels like the end of their era. If Durant leaves, and I think that's pretty likely, I don't think they will get back here again.

I'm not arguing they're better without him but given that Steph accounted for 63 points in game 3, they didn't miss Klay as much because had he played then Steph doesn't come anywhere close to that production.

Warriors have nothing down low right now and raptors have a star who's playing like a top 5 player every night. That's the big difference.

It's way overdue for something bad to happen to golden state.

Just need one more win raptors. Let's get it done. Do the rest of the NBA world a favor and beat these Jack azzes.

Not to mention the fact they have created some of those injuries. Zaza on Kawhi, Draymond on Harden, etc.

First championship against LeBron with no Love and Irving. The warriors have had some good fortune with other teams' injuries in every championship year.

Given his history of "can't beat them, join them" he might be forcing his way into Toronto if the Raptors can win at home.

As a Spurs fan it's a little tough to see Kawhi possibly win a championship with the Raptors since I think mostly Spurs nation feels that he quit on the team.

I was a big Kawhi homer while he was with the Spurs and would defend him when he sat out the majority of the 2017-18 season. I even had a reliable source that I trust telling me since January 2018 that their doctors cleared him to play but I still defended Kawhi that season, postseason and the summer. That summer I was like Pop will talk to Kawhi and get him to come back. It didn't take me to fully understand that I had my blinders on until he demanded a trade then got traded which my source told me I have been telling you for months he was cleared to play. Then the many articles of how much his uncle was involved.

But seeing him put up the numbers these finals and his play has me thinking maybe it won't be bad if Toronto wins.
I mean he plays tough and is quiet and is strictly about basketball. It also helps that they are playing the Warriors. I don't know I have no dog in this fight but felt that today regarding his play in the finals.

Golden State has had no shortage of something bad happening over many, many, years prior to the recent run.

Hating the current team is just fandom. Saying it's overdue for them to have something bad happen is ignorant.

In the past, whenever golden state is on the ropes, an injury happens to the other team ( see Kawhi with spurs and CP3 with rockets) and their fortunes immediately improve. I feared it was going to happen again tonight when VanVleet went down.

It is kinda interesting that Rockets (I'm a fan) have been chasing the warriors trying to outscore them, and the raptors have decided to just kick their ass with defense and it's working

Hating the current team is a result of watching a stacked team dominate everyone else and then add the 2nd best player in the league to the team, get all the calls and injury luck to go their way, all while throwing a temper tantrum on the court all game every game because every little moment of the game didn't go perfectly right for the perfect little angels.

Klay is the only player on the core of that team over the past 5 years who doesn't act like a 2 year old on the court. If the rest of the team acted like Klay on the court (or anything remotely close to him), I might still be tired of the Warriors winning. But I wouldn't despise them.

I've mentioned it before, but if you watch and pay attention to this, the warriors actually have a "protocol" that they go thru when a player wearing a golden state jersey is called for a foul.

1) warriors player who is called for the foul acts as animated as possible and tries to attract the attention of both the tv cameras and everyone in the arena because he is 100% certain that he got shafted on a call.

2) warriors player closest to warrior who had foul called on him acts incredulous. He puts his hands up in the air in disbelief, he is flashing a " you can't be serious grin" to the refs and everyone watching on tv. He really thinks it's unbelievable that this team will get called for a foul at anytime or at least he acts that way.

3) warriors coach Steve Kerr see the actions both of these players. He is now certain that the refs made a mistake. Kerr looks for the nearest ref to berate and say that he better not mess it up again.

4) TV announcer who is usually a former coach or player watches the replay and confirms that the play is called correct and a foul did occur on the warriors player.

5) probably 90% of America thinks a foul was committed and most of the 10% who doesn't is on the west coast.

Happens every single time.

Good for Toronto. Their first NBA title ever just 1 win away. Kawhi will always be revered and a legend in Toronto and Canada even if he then leaves them after this one season.

Even if Durant comes back, winning three straight against this Raptors team is incredibly difficult feat, and who knows how rusty Durant is. Game 5 should have plenty of drama either way.

Do they whine about foul calls in an unattractive way? Yes
Are they uniquely bad about that? I don't think so.

The Rockets did a freaking statistical study to whine about calls, where 538 showed they get treated better by the refs than the Warriors and all but one other team in the NBA

Not for me, and I bet a lot of other people.

Granted, Curry does plenty of charity work and has a pristine reputation off-court, he is insufferably arrogant while playing. He was one of my favorite players when he was at Davidson and early in his career, but the continued success really got to his head. Taunting the ref during that regular season game really did it for me; the man needs to taste defeat.

Kawhi, on the other hand, is quiet and stoic, much like Tim Duncan was. I never liked the Spurs much as a Mavs fan, but it's hard not to respect Duncan's continued success, calm disposition, and entertaining duels with Dirk.

I get y'all hate how he went out, but the man helped you get another ring (don't care if he was a "weak" FMVP, you don't win in 2014 without him), got you DeRozan as opposed to nothing, and y'all already booed him off the court earlier. How long is this enmity going to last? And should the Raptors not win their first championship just because you're all mad at one player?
