Kawhi not hosting The Decision or being weak-minded like Durant makes a big difference. I don't think a majority of the world knows he faked an injury to force a trade to get a shoe deal with New Balance.
That is an opinion and a rumor. Not fact. It may be true but we don't know for sure. It is equally possible that the Spurs mismanaged him and his injury.Guitarsoup said:

Seems pretty likely at this point that Kawhi is going to go the Durant ***** move route and join the Lakers, with Iggy riding along on their coattails.
F Dennis the Menace and his nephew.
The difference is also he already has 2 rings while neither KD or Bron had one when they joined/created the super team.CFTXAG10 said:
I feel like he wasn't quite the villain yet, even after what happened in San Antonio. There was a large contingent of Spurs fans that were pissed, but if he joins the Lakers he should fully expect the same treatment that LeBron got in Miami, and KD got in Golden State.
Edit to add: He may not be as widely criticized though based on the fact he isn't as outspoken as KD and LeBron
Ridiculous because there is a lot of money to go around? That seems like a good thing. Seth played a pivotal role with Portland last year, and has improved a lot since he was last with Dallas.AustinAg2012 said:Little brother's getting $8 million per season to essentially wash laundry? He hit 45% of his threes last year. He'll play a Steve Kerr on Bulls role. Sit on his spot, knock down shots. Let Luka create for the shooters.AustinAg2012 said:Little brother's getting $8 million per season to essentially wash laundry? The NBA just keeps getting more ridiculous by the minute.Olsen said:
He was a backup to the 2nd Team All-NBA point guard that came in top 10 for MVP voting in 3 of the last 4 years. Quite a different role than the one he is being paid to be with the Mavs, which is a spot up shooter with the first team.AustinAg2012 said:
Curry averaged a whopping 7.9 points per game last season while playing in 74 games. Yeah, I guess that warrants $8m/season deal.
And he made 1.5 of 3.4 attempts from behind the arc. Woohoo. Some of these recent contracts are crazy, with this being high on the list. Atta boy, Cubes!

EDITED: Looks like this tweet got deleted. A Lakers insider tweeted out that Kawhi and the Lakers were closer than ever.
