Feel free to do your own research. I'm not gonna waste my time digging up old posts because city boy is too lazy to do his own research into the subject. It's been posted about many, many times with links to all the facts.
If you want to believe the Spurs mismanaged his injury, that's fine, but the Spurs have been the NBA team that set the standard for time and injury management in the NBA and have a strong and well-founded reputation for correctly managing player injuries and recoveries. The Spurs did everything they could for Kawhi except be a big market team.

I think Kawhi didn't/doesn't get enough criticism nationally, as opposed to in SA, for what certainly looked like a case of malingering to force a trade, but he's already been the best player on two championship teams.
Choosing to go to a town you want to live in and join a super team after having already proven you can win it all, twice, is very different than the beta move Durant pulled.
The difference is also he already has 2 rings while neither KD or Bron had one when they joined/created the super team.CFTXAG10 said:

I'm looking at these remaining free agents, and if Kawhi doesn't sign with the Lakers, I'm not sure what they are going to have.

He was a backup to the 2nd Team All-NBA point guard that came in top 10 for MVP voting in 3 of the last 4 years. Quite a different role than the one he is being paid to be with the Mavs, which is a spot up shooter with the first team.AustinAg2012 said:

The Knicks have 7 players on team options for next year, so they can open up ridiculous space again if they want.
