Well folks, I think it's fair to conclude that we are what we are at this point: a 3pt shooting team full of guys who are below average shooters.

Gordon and Russ are absolutely crippling our team and will end up wasting Harden's prime years. A massive, massive miscalculation by the front office.

Even if we win game 7, this team is not going anywhere. I've been waiting and ****ing waiting for us to just "get our shot back", but it isn't going to happen. Our team cannot shoot.

I'd trade half our roster for Duncan Robinson at this point.

Two of the shots were pretty much forced shots (the one at the end, and one where Russ had poor spacing and Harden pulled it from up top). The other shot sss the sick corner 3.

If Harden goes 9 for 32 or refuses to shoot the ball like he did that time against the Spurs in a losing Game 6 a few years ago I am going to get stuck in a glass cage of emotion.

I am an Aggie and a Houston sports fan...sports are almost always a disappointment.

The more I've thought about it, the more I think that the Chris Paul and Eric Gordon contracts are fireable mistakes for Morey.

It's incredibly hard for me to say that, as I've been part of the Cult of Morey for many years now. But you don't get to just punt on draft picks every year because you know you're not good at drafting AND ALSO make the crippling contract offers that he has.

We're completely hamstrung for next year. Most of the time, I'd just say, "It may seem like we're hamstrung, but Morey always has a backdoor escape plan." Now he has used up all his getaway options. We have no real trade assets (players or draft picks), and basically no salary space to sign some help.

He went all-in with CP3, and credit to him for being bold in the name of winning a championship. But it didn't work. He gave a significant amount of our money to CP3, who has never stayed healthy for a full season or playoffs (except for this year, because ofc that happens to us), and Eric Gordon, who he threw money at as if he was in a bidding war with other teams for him even though he wasn't.

The advanced metrics and unconventional thinking at the beginning of the last decade were definitely significant. But now the league has caught up. Almost every front office is making decisions in a similar way now. It's just not unique anymore. I'm thankful for all that Morey has done for the organization, but it seems that he's out of tricks.

CP3 definitely had a handshake agreement. If the Rockets did not sign the NBA Players Union president to a long term deal like they agreed.....there would have been huge drama.
