Doc would be ideal with the right first assistant, just like had with Thibadoux in Boston. Helps to have a guy like Doc in the free agent market, too.
I don't mind Doc, but agree it is about who puts on his support staff. Wouldn't surprise me if Doc wants to take a year or two off as well.
And even then, that Doc had a lot of help from great players to win the ship.YNWA_AG said:

The Rockets can do better or hire an up and coming assistant.

I do like Jeff as a basketball mind, but I'd really like for us to go out there and try to find the next Nick Nurse rather than another retread coach.

Daryl and the majority of the front office has had about 100x the stress they had before Tilman became owner. Don't blame him for leaving. It's a very toxic work environment, which is sad because that was not the case when Les ran the ship.
I've been a huge Morey fan for a long time. Big time.
But the rest of the league has caught up. Being analytically minded is no longer an advantage. And now that the playing field is even in that regard, Morey's poor drafting prowess and bad contracts have really started to hurt us.
Morey was absolutely necessary in our organization's journey. But now it's time for something else.

I have to imagine this is still about China. Guess we shouldn't be surprised that Tillman wouldn't take Morey making comments that could potentially lose fans and therefore money lightly.

With casino closures during the spring and restaurants struggling all over the country I have to wonder if Tillman's business challenges will bleed over into the team?
