That's going to leave a mark, assuming Pop doens't pull his head out in the next couple of days.
That's ok, lots of people have wishful thinking opinions that aren't based in fact or reality.Aggies2009 said:
Sooo I think Pop sucks and always has but got lucky he had a team of superstars, mainly Duncan.

Spurs are a laughing stock? You aren't very smart, are you?Aggies2009 said:Guitarsoup said:That's ok, lots of people have wishful thinking opinions that aren't based in fact or reality.Aggies2009 said:

He's an absolute humiliation to his country and to San Antonio at this point. The Spurs are a laughing stock since Duncan left aside from one season. And now he has world class players and is getting smacked around by everyone from France to Nigeria. Hilarious.
Best coach ever!!! Lol

I wouldn't bother with them, Guitarsoup.
I know Pop long enough to understand that he's going to take the heat when we lose and he's fine by that. By assuming responsibility, he knows that the heat is lessened on the players.
I thought he kept Booker out there too long; he should have subbed in Lillard sooner. I'm thinking Booker was still reeling from the loss in Game 6 (& long trip) and seemed timid out there. The ball was moving in the first half, but the movement stopped once Durant picked up his 4th foul. I think them going big also kind of had something to do with it, but our shots just weren't falling. It was a defensive battle all throughout the game and it was unfortunate that we had 3 outside shots that just didn't fall when we were down by 2. Also, that turnover by Lillard in the last few seconds was disappointing. I was really hoping to see "Dame time" in international play and that slip is uncharacteristic of him. As always, these guys play too selfless out there but I think that comes with experience. The more these guys play together, the better they will play.
Also, I was impressed with Holiday's play; he single-handedly kept us in the game. He shouldn't of passed up that 3 pointer in the corner though late in the game; he was hot, he should have taken that shot.

Spurs have made the playoffs 3/5 of the years since Duncan retired and barely missed the other two years (with just slightly below .500 each season) That's not a laughing stock. That's pretty respectable considering the loss of the GOATPF. Look at Cleveland post-LeBron (both times.) Look at Houston after Harden. Look at Dallas the last few years of Dirk's career. Look at Chicago post-Jordan. Look at the Lakers post-Kobe. Look at the Celtics post-Bird.
Spurs have done pretty good considering what happens to most teams when they lose their franchise's best player. But you call them a laughing stock? GTFO.
He can't make Durant and Lilliard make shots, and he cant make LeBron James, Steph Curry, Donovan Mitchell, Kawhi, Randle, Chris Paul, Jimmy Butler, Paul George, Bradley Beal, and Anthony Davis actually play for their country. Three of his best players joined the team right before that game, because they played the entire season then the Finals and had no practices.
Durant, Lilliard, Tatum, and Booker went a combined 11-37 against France. But I guess if Pop was a good coach, all those bricked threes would have gone in.
But hey, be so triggered at the old man that made political statements you don't like that you make illogical and incoherent ramblings with no basis in fact. I can't imagine hating Pop more than you love to cheer for your country. It looks great for you.

Lmfao are you seriously hanging your hat on "making the playoffs"? Something that like every other team does, and the Spurs are doing it as the 7 seed!?
Cool. Replacing a generational talent isn't easy. Happy limping into the playoffs? No. Is limping into the playoffs what a laughing stock of the league (your words) is doing? Also no. All teams go through rebuilds when their star retires. Dallas is doing it now transitioning from Dirk to Luka. Since he won the title in '11, Carlisle had ten straight years or not making the playoffs or getting knocked out in the first round.Quote:
I'm old enough to remember when the Spurs were a championship or bust. Glad that without Duncan they're happy limping into the playoffs. You'd think the greatest coach ever would do better than that, but I guess not.

Also it's funny how the players are complaining about Pop's coaching on offense. It's like guys who are actually running his system are agreeing with me that he's bad but some random nobody on texags claims to know better. I'll take the players word over yours any day.
When has Pop **** on the USA? You can love something but also see the need for improvement. Loving something doesn't mean you think it is perfect. Any parent can understand that. But it is much easier for you to twist things into something they are not. No one is celebrating a 7th place finish, but that is clearly lost on you in your attempts to make strawman after strawman. That's the classic move made by someone clinging to the opposite side of the facts.Quote:
Interesting that you comment on "loving the country". Your boy Pop spends his time ****ting on this country from his multimillion dollar mansion. Wish he'd spend more time coaching and maybe you wouldn't be reduced to celebrating 7th place finishes in the West.
