Whiteside has spent the past two seasons in the Western Conference with Sacramento and Portland and remains a force in the paint. With the departure of Derrick Favors, Rudy Gobert has another dependable, experienced center behind him.

Yea that's insane if he was offered a lot more. Do you know what the other offers were?
Insane anti-competitive BS. Only b/c he's had injuries. It's still insane that OKC bought him out for literally no reason. How far the Knicks go is irrelevant to OKCs decision to just let Kemba just walk into NY for nothing.Enzo The Baker said:M.C. Swag said:Insane anti-competitive BS. Kemba's lost a step big time. Also, while it might move the Knicks's needle a little, their absolute ceiling is a 2nd round exit with how good the East is now.

I understand OKC wants to lose and that moving him would be hard. That's not the point. The point is that releasing kemba was a bush league move. He had 2 years left on his deal and would start on almost every team in the league. NY was just gifted a starting PG b/c OKC is being grossly anti-competitive.Enzo The Baker said:M.C. They bought him out because they are rebuilding and want a top 4 pick next year. Then they save money in the process. It wasn't for no reason.
Edit: Also moving Kemba's contract for an asset would have been really difficult given his decline and guaranteed two years of almost $40MM. If Presti didn't think it was possible, trust me, it wasn't possible.

Do you play fantasy football? Imagine if 1 of your league mates just dropped a starting caliber player so his buddy could just pick him up for free.
"Save money".....OKC doesn't GAF about saving money. They just want to reach the cap floor and lose as many games as possible. This helps them achieve that....still doesn't make it any less BS.

I also don't understand how it's Bush league. It's not like a small market team is conspiring with a big market team. OKC did what is in their best interest as a rebuilding franchise. It's really that simple.
