Russ is his best version when he's allowed to be Russ (IE, let him do whatever he wants on the court and take the good with the bad). But we're already doing that with Jalen to grow him so having Russ reintroduced would be self-sabotage.

Stephen Silas subbed Daishen Nix in specifically to defend on the last play of the game and Nix blew his coverage and gave up a buzzer-beating alley-oop dunk.

Nix is so bad. He looks like a guy you would pick up for a ymca game. But was green supposed to switch on that play?

Watch Nix the whole time. He's not even looking at Butler. I don't know who he's guarding. The guy he's looking at is guarded and way outside the 3 point line.

Nix was clueless on this play.
You can't blame that play on Nix alone. First, its ridiculous that Silas subbed him in at that point over Christopher who is a much better defender. Second, Tate actually made the biggest screw up on the play.
At the start of the play, Caleb Martin fakes a screen for Bam and Nix completely loses him (possibly trying to switch with KJM). It was a massive mistake, but not the worst on the play. After Nix gets lost, Caleb Martin runs past Jimmy Butler, who is supposed to be guarded by Tate. Tate responds by guarding neither player. He doesn't really pick up Martin, nor does he follow Butler. He just stands there and then blames Nix. If Tate follows Butler, Martin gets a wide open deep 3 with barely any time...a much better outcome.
Silas told them not to switch on the play. Both Nix and Tate completely ignored that message.
