Anyone else collect specific teams? I've been working on unloading bulk team lots on eBay. 30-50 cards at a time.
With eBay fees and shipping, it is hard be worth it, but I am trying to open up some space.
I'd rather send to posters here or their kids if you cover shipping. I can send batches of 50 to 100 or more cards.

Opened an NBAHoops Hobby hobby box this evening which had an Allen Iverson Hoopnotic case hit and a Magic Johnson 1989 Signatures on-card auto. Absolutely ridiculous luck! I still have a jumbo box waiting for me, but I don't expect nearly that kind of good luck to happen again.

Whoa! I was a HUGE, Magic, fan as a kid. Cried behind a Magnolia tree when the HIV thing hit. Id buy that off you if your interested? Either way, congrats on the pull. Theyre both sweet!

I appreciate the offer, but I just got back in the card collecting game and that's my first big pull. And as a Gen Xer, I can't let go of a legend like Magic. I was in high school when the announcement happened and I can vaguely remember watching it on SportsCenter. A friend of mine was a huge Lakers fan and he was absolutely devastated.

Also, I love the card design based on the original 1989 NBAHoops set. I remember collecting those when I was in Junior High. I think it was my first foray into basketball cards as before NBAHoops, basketball cards were not as readily available as baseball and football cards. The David Robinson rookie was the big chase in that set and I'm pretty sure I've got a couple of those sitting in my old collection.

My son and I have opened 7 blaster boxes of Hoops. 0 Flaggs. 0 Edgecombes. 0 Knueppels.
But our last box had an auto of rookie Lachlan Olbrich. That's right. 5th string Bulls center, Lachlan Olbrich.

Boxes suck.

I've got a couple of Signature Class mega boxes arriving tomorrow and a couple more next week. I'll be leaving for vacation so won't be able to rip them for a few days. Both megas and blasters are still available directly from Topps website, so it looks like retail boxes will be fairly easy to obtain. I don't care for the hobby box configuration at their current prices.

I don't know if it's my bad luck or shenanigans by Topps, but the blaster and mega I opened both sucked. Literally none of the top rookies. Very few rookies overall, compared to previous Topps releases.

I also have a hobby box that I've not opened. I'll be reselling it and take a small loss b/c I just know the 2 autos are gonna be garbage.

I haven't been impressed by the switch to Topps. I wish there licensing was spread out to create better competition, prices are crazy.

I probably agree. I've liked most of the designs so far, but it is feeling very overproduced. I do miss the days of picking between Topps/Upper Deck/Fleer, etc.

The high end stuff is really nice (Finest, Cosmic Chrome) but so expensive.

My Signature Class hobby box was about $585 after tax, and that was directly from Topps. Imagine opening that and the 2 autos are Jordan Clarkson and Ryan Kalkbrenner.

Autos are extremely hit or miss. Football has too many retired players in the base. Case hit HOFs are fine but base retirees, linemen, and kickers is ridiculous. Panini did the same thing though.

Just open em. Maybe they saved all the good cards for you!

Bad news, Coffee Beans. I just went to GameStop to send some cards off for grading, tryna get you some 10s, and found out PSA just upped their base price to $80 per card. Eff that noise.

I think they are doing that to keep people from sending in lower valued cards. I heard they are sitting on a backload of millions waiting to be graded. And it's not just sports cards. Pokemon cards are apparently on fire right now too.

Yep. It's insane. There's a lot of negative stuff on YouTube about PSA but the market doesn't seem to care. PSA 10s are still the standard (along with BGS 9.5-10). I'm actually about to ship off some cards to BGS for grading. Nothing crazy, but a couple of 10s will make it well worth it.

I really hope TAG increases in popularity. They seem to have the most objective grading methodology and systems (advanced scanning technology; no human subjective grading).

Is there an app out there where you can scan and store your raw cards in an inventory ? PSA I have been using to check prices and eBay, but it won't let you store raw cards.
