Gotta say, Flagg is a stud. No disrespect to Harper, but can you imagine this Spurs team if they had gotten the #1 pick instead of #2?

Yeah he's ridiculous. Straight up Mavs are in a better position now with Flagg than they would have been if they still had that Luka team together.

Saw a graphic that had Flagg's stats this year vs Luka's this year and they were damn near identical.

Rockets made no move at the trade deadline.

They lost to the Celtics by 20 yesterday and Sengun was ejected in that game for calling the blonde female ref "you ****ing *****" for not calling a foul for him.

Tonight the Rockets got handled at home for the second straight night by the Hornets Buzzsaw.

They have @OKC on Saturday.

I think they are starting to fall apart and they punted on KD's best year with them by not getting a PG or center. Sheppard is falling apart and has like 10 straight bad games and teams just mercilessly target him.

Best four teams in the west are us, OKC, Denver, and Minnesota. Minnesota is only 1 game back from Denver now for 3. Not sure who I would rather see in the 2nd round. We will have to see how Ayo looks there.

We were one ping pong ball off from having one and two in the draft last year. Could been set for the next decade.

Flagg would have been the ideal fit for the Spurs, a 4 that shoot the 3. No doubt Flagg may be second best to Wemby in the last 10 NBA drafts. I would take him over Cade.

But we did great with Harper. The way he can beat the defender off the dribble, and just his ease and finish. I just see Harper becoming a star. He has that "give me the ball" like some of hte all time greats and is a natural scorer. His shooting needs to get more consistent, but he's a good shooter off the dribble.

There's no doubt in my mind we win a championship this year if we got Flagg. I love Harper, and I strongly believe he's the #1 pick in most drafts, but Flagg is generational.

I agree, but I am good with Harper still. Flagg made way more sense for us since we had Castle and Fox in place. As it turns out, we were doing great with any of the top 4 slots. But Harper definitely has the potential to develop into an All-NBA PG - kind of a PG version of DWade. High level defense, able to break down teams by getting to the rim and finishing in a variety of ways, but then Harper seems to have a more cerebral part of play creation than Wade did, and a lot of patience. But like Wade, had a good size/strength advantage.

I hope somehow we can get Castle, Harper, and Bryant's shot to start falling soon. None of them look bad. Like 2k said earlier, what does it cost to bring Chip back?

Oh, yes, I'm very good with Harper.

I honestly think of him more a bigger Tony Parker. I know that's not a great comparison, but it's who comes to mind when I see him play.

Don't look now but the Spurs have the longest win streak in the West.

I like the Wade comparison more because Harper is so much bigger, stronger and more physical. I also think Harper will figure out his shot and has started getting that right wing middie. Wade was also a much better defender than Parker with 3x all-defense. I think Fox is a lot more like Parker.

But in any event, we got a great one.

Take Niang or Highsmith over Waters

Middletown isn't getting bought out.

I doubt the Spurs do anything though.

Some of yall constantly complaining about Mitch just needs to stop. He's a good coach. Not challenging calls all the time is a SMART move. Save the challenges for the end of the game. It's the stupid coaches who burn them early all the time. He pulls guys out for making defensive mistakes just like Pop did. He gives the guys offensive freedom just like Pop did in the second half of his tenure. The team routinely is at the top of the league in assists and in NOT fouling. Staples of the Spurs culture and a sign of good coaching.

Besides, if you hate the coach so much what do you suggest they do? Hire who? Who is so clearly better who is attainable? And what other culture do you want?

More injuries for the nuggets. They have lost 3 straight, Gordon is still out and Cam Johnson hasn't played since before Christmas. They should have taken my Barnes trade.

The only worry I had after a few games (when it was obvious we were a playoff team), is if our youth was going to bite us in the playoffs. But this team is incredibly mentally strong. Lots of guys that have been losing enough the last few years to be able to bounce back quickly.

It's pretty remarkable how good this team has been in the clutch mins this year. That's a great thing for the playoffs. Shooting will come and go but I really want to see us play better and more consistent defense. Then we will really be set up well for the playoffs.

I saw someone say that of all the best teams in the NBA, we have both the highest ceiling and the lowest floor.

Expounding on that, we are heavily dependent on very young players with no big game experience (other than Wemby's Olympics games where he was outstanding.) It is normal and expected for young guys to make mistakes in the pressures of the playoffs. However, the Spurs have also come back several times and showed a lot of mental fortitude late in games to take control and pull out the wins.

Other teams have great players for rim pressure, but Castle, Fox, and Harper is a really unique trio that no other team can really match the relentless 48 minutes of attacking the rim, and we need to keep that focus of rim pressure rather than having those possessions where we make one pass and JuJu launches a three.

We obviously have weaknesses (PF physicality, inconsistent and lack of shooting talent) but we also have some pretty elite strengths with Wemby, Fox, Castle, and our depth. We clean the glass, draw fouls, limit our own fouls, limit turnovers, and pass well. We can clearly beat anyone in the league, but we could also get pushed around by Denver or Minnesota.

Going to be a good learning year and I can't wait to see who we bring in to address the PF needs this summer.

I worry just as much about our coach in the playoffs...
