Lakers actually did not burn any cap space for this offseason. Ink won't dry until lakers have made their offseason moves. Reaves cap hold is still accounted for but they will sign his contract last.

Wow. You'd have to imagine it's going to be Gordon who gets moved despite his injuries. No one is gonna want that Braun contract. He has underwhelmed and it's a longer time horizon.

As a gesture of good faith, I'm willing to help them cut $5 million and give them a reigning award winner in the process..

Ha. I'd do that. Even though Cam was ass last year. In any case, another west contender gets weaker next year.

Well crap. Didn't realize he still had four years on his deal. No thanks.

I thought those Joe and Wiggins contracts were really good. But the deeper the thunder got, the less playable they became. Nice work by Presti to turn them into 4 second rounders.

They now have 15 players on the roster and still need to cut nearly 20 million

Kenrich is about 7.

Not sure you can get 11M off by declining and re-signing Hart and Dort. Assume that's the plan

I think Dort is the odd man out.

I tend to agree. I think shedding Dort would put them under second apron. Hart will prob be back one way or another. Kenrich seems TBD on staying on a min deal or going elsewhere for a bigger paycheck. I think the 26-27 could be mostly set without much more heartburn than that.

The more interesting question right now IMO is how they feel about Cason/Hart extensions.

If I were the thunder and looking at SA and their guards for the next 5 years at least, I'd prioritize Wallace. Get the Hart replacement with Sorber or Mara.

Dort+Kenrich dumps get them there, but they have to plan for next summer as well when they have SGA increase by $20M by himself.

Going to be interesting

I also think with Jay Dub's injury uncertainty, Wallace becomes even more important.

I think they'll probably let IHart go after next year and hope that Sorber/Mara can show something this year

And he knows that and I think he is asking for 80-100M deal

With Cason, it's partially a money thing but I also get the vibe from him that he wants a bigger role (i.e. he wants to start and have more freedom offensively). It seems like a spot in the starting lineup will likely open with Dort's departure.

IMO Ajay is better suited to play alongside SGA/Dub than Cason. With Mara's addition, we're basically all-in on the double bigs long term and we need creators/shooters around them. I think part of the reason that lineup was so clunky is that it was frequently paired with Dort, who is basically a nothing on offense. Defense could just load up on SGA.

Even if Cason was removed from the mix and Ajay started alongside Dub/SGA, we'd still have McCain, Caruso, Topic and Stirtz off the bench. It would be a shift in identity but possibly a good shift.

But I'm generally reserving judgment until I see how it the offseason looks as a whole.

So are they going to decline and give Kenrich a longterm deal? B/c he is a guy I absolutely want on the Spurs. My only two real targets in free agency would be Kenrich and Dean Wade.

I wish I had a good answer on Kenrich. He has some Collison vibes in that I think he loves OKC/the organization and really wants to stay + finish his career here. But he's 32 and this might be his last contract. Wouldn't blame him to see if he get paid elsewhere.

Truly a "who's to say" situation at this point.
