Hate the Yankees but Jeter is my favorite professional athlete.

And the guy really is one of the most respected players in the game. My brother-in-law is a die hard Red Sox fan. Born and raised in New England. Hates the Yankees (obviously) but respects the hell out of Jeter and has nothing but praise for the guy. Means a lot coming from your rival.

And he's a legend when you look at his dating resume. Check out the new one:
