Umpires say the rubbed them. Sosha says both teams used same balls. Butcher says they weren't rubbed. Did anyone from the rangers complain of untuned balls.

Actually... one article I read said it is " a task that usually falls on the umpire's room attendant and is ultimately the umpiring crew's responsibility."

And that that attendant is in the case of RBiA, a Rangers employee.

Having said that... the same article quoted Scheppers as saying he didn't notice anything different... Frasor said there is about a 10sec personal remedy to that issue... "Do it yourself."

Not in the majors. I think they still do in most of the minor leagues, though.

If you don't like the ball you get from the ump, you simply throw the ball back asking for another. If it is a big deal (you really think the opposing team is trying to screw you), you call the ump out and let him handle it.

Complaining about this stuff after the fact is pure C.J. chicken s***.

I wouldn't want to rub his balls before the game either.
