Yeah, Jackie going a little scorched earth. There was this too.

quote:
I don't think any manager and any coaching staff worked harder than we worked to get the results we did," Moore said. "We not only became very close, but I feel like we accomplished a lot. Two World Series, a playoffs and a game to get in the playoffs. That's a lot of success for people to be getting fired, isn't it?"

Would Jackie's old uniform fit Thad Levine? He could park next to Ron with his computer and some sort of "don't make that move, dumbass" buzzer.

so what exactly was Jackie's job description? If he's the bench coach, isnt the bench coach supposed to keep an eye on the manager and keep him from doing anything too stupid?

if so, Jackie was the worst bench coach in baseball.

As best I can tell, post-game hugs with Wash are about the only time I saw him do anything. Jackie was the best kind of bench coach for a manager who likes to do stupid stuff based on his "gut" - a Weekend at Bernies kind of bench coach that will just nod on command.

Dave Anderson's sucked balls for as long as I can remember. Had to coach 1st because he sucked too bad at 3rd, and someone was going to take the fall for this team having too many braindead moments on the basepaths.

I started a thread about this earlier this season, but the Rangers were one of the best in the business under most of Dave Anderson's watch.

Ron freaked out after last season when Anderson took a more station-to-station approach, moved him, and all the Rangers have done is seen a 20% increase in outs on the bases, seen their XBT% go up all of 1%, etc...

Stolen bases improved over the last year as the year went along, its amazing how that happens when you remove Cruz and put in Rios.

If Dave Anderson deserved to keep his job, I really don't under what the organization sees in Gary Pettis.

As for Moore, my feeling is they had some preparation issues to go along with some of the strategic issues. Bench coaches normally have a lot of pregame duties, and Moore wasn't an exception.

Yes, Boo is a "rising star" in the minor league ranks, I suppose. The Moore and Beuchele families know each other pretty well, obviously have connections through baseball, had some kids grow up together and the such, Moore had something to do with Boo getting back into the organizations.

Interesting that Boo may be taking Moore's job.

Pick up Cuban, Kemp, Morales, and reisgn AJP.

Leave Prfoar, Ian, and Andrus alone until mid year trade dealine.

Stay away from Cano.

I think one of the top priorities is to get Profar a home.

Even though I like Profar to 2nd and Kins in the outfield - What about Profar to 3rd to stay, and Beltre to 1st?

Martin and Rios in two of the OF spots and trade or sign for the other corner outfield spot. I know that is easier said than done.

What about adding Encarnacion(sp?), Cabrera, or Bautista in a trade with Toronto? They should be ready to shake something up. In Bautista's case, they shouldn't require a mother load of talent in return, as long as the Rangers picked up all of his salary.

Beltre to first to make room for Profar is worth considering. Never would have considered it before this year, but Beltre's defense did slip this year and it does make one wonder if it was just a fluke or if father time played some role. Could be a pretty sick IF defensively.
