Has anyone heard any news? Seems like he's not garnering much attention. Would be awesome keeping him in Texas for a short-term deal.

yeah offer him a million or 2 a year and see if he's at that point of desperation.
or maybe this would be a good opportunity for the Astros to pick up a cheap bat, to help them be better this year. Short term.

The cheapest you can even dream of finding Cruz on a 1-year deal at is in the $10m+ range.
Depends on what offers he has on the table. Obviously we don't know what he's been offered, if anything. there is the steroids issue, with regards to power, and he is in his 30's. It'll be real interesting to see what he gets. Most free agents have already signed somewhere.
Supposedly he turned down 5/75 earlier in the off season. I have doubts as to the truth, but if so he sure has to regret it.

Yeah if offered, he should have signed that. He's not a 20 million dollar player 15 million was generous, especially with the unknown to come, and his age.
The market will pick back up closer to Spring Training.
I just don't think there is a market for bad fielding mediocre hitters on the downside of their career coming off a PED suspension.

Yeah he'll end up in Milwaukee or Kansas City for 7 or 8 million.
I think he has a couple of years left of being a very productive bat and there will be a market for that. Anyone who plays him in the field is crazy.

I read the rumor of him turning down 5 for $75MM several weeks ago. We'll see how it pans out, but if really did walk way from that kind of offer and ends up on a 1-2 year deal, he needs to fire whoever gave him that advice.
