One of my favorite players.

I liked Young.

I wish he'd have been willing to move to DH last year, so we didn't have Berkman. IIRC, he wanted to play in the field and thus was traded.

I also would like to see Texas sign him for a closing deal so he could retire as a Ranger.

I think he'll go down as Buddy Bell and Steve Buechele...

Class act and a total professional. Great career.

They are signing him to a 1 day deal so he can retire a ranger.

Averaged 155 games a season. Never went on dl. Always one of my favorites.

The poster child for how difficult it is for a big leaguer to record 3000 career hits. MY had an outstanding career and still didn't make it.

Does his family live in DFW? If so, I hope he considers getting into coaching with the Rangers sometime during the next few years.

I liked hearing the OSB talk about him during the press conference. Young was the leader of folks supporting him after the cocaine use revelation.
