I was never able to get past step 1 when registering for my free trial....so, No I could not "Did you follow ALL the steps for unblock-us? Did you green light the IP address which you were broadcasting from?"

But it worked for the week.

This is my 3rd or 4th year to buy mlb.tv. I love it. I love being able to watch the mariners wherever I am

I know it's new this year, so did anybody watch a game yesterday or in spring training via Chromecast? I'm about to jump on the mlb.tv wagon and that would be my primary viewing method.

also as a side question, when watching an archived game, do you get commercials and/or dead air filler between innings like WatchESPN, or does it skip to the next half inning when the broadcast resumes?

thanks for the input!

Last year they did about 50% off around Fathers Day if you don't want to pay the full cost now. I'd expect that similar deal again.

I took advantage of this last year as well. It may be cheaper to go with the monthly deal until around the all star break when they run the 50 percent deal. I think I paid 40 or 50 bucks for the second half of the season compared to the 100 I would have paid

I have unblock-us set up as the DNS on my router, and am going monthly (may be getting cable again when I move in May) with MLB.TV. I'm using a Roku for the streaming. It works better than any proxy I've used.

So far it's been great. A few hiccups (buffering for 2-3 seconds), but for the most part it is like watching it on TV, aside from the lack of "game breaks" where they show highlights from other games. Also, you'll be 20-30 seconds behind live.

FYI, the only officially supported devices for unblock-us and MLB.TV are computers (in browser), Roku, AppleTV, WDTV, Boxee, a couple smart TVs, PS4, PS3, Xbox360, and XboxOne (apparently XboxOne is very buggy). Notably missing from that list are iPads and Android tablets, so you're mileage may vary. The reason for this (as far as I know), is unblock-us doesn't actually stream through a proxy. It routes traffic in such a way that when the stream site (such as MLB.TV) checks for location, it routes the traffic to make it appear to come from a different place. Once the streamer verifies the location, the stream is routed straight to your home network.

A little different, but I just bought the MLB At Bat app for $20 so I can stream the Astros radio. I'm in Austin and don't have a good way to listen on my laptop or computer and now I can.

They really need to fix their TV contracts. It has been YEARS since I've been able to watch the Astros regularly on TV in Austin. that's a travesty.

FYI, for the last two years, around mid-May, T-mobile sends out an e-mail to their subscribers giving us At-Bat free for the rest of the year.

That's pretty awesome. I'm on ATT though, but good on TMobile.
