The effect of smokeless on oral hygiene might correlate to overall poorer health. It would be interesting to know the rates of heart disease, antibiotic usage, etc., in smokeless users.

I think this is very true especially with regards to antibiotic use. I used to get a bad sinus and/or bronchial infection every 6 months or so when I dipped. That's disappeared entirely (yes, entirely) since I quit.
