Stanton's bomb has been about the only salvageable thing so far. Look forward to seeing him hit again, but he's got a bye in the next round. Ugh.

It lasts too long. Need to just take the top performers from each league in round 1 and make the 2nd round the championship.

The old tv show home run derby they showed looks better
They'd replay that show on ESPN when I was in HS. Gave some perspective on how much (little) those guys made because they'd win $2k and keep it.

George Springer hits them as far as Stanton did in a real game. Shame he wasnt there.

just about unwatchable this year (again). It crossed my mind too...let 'em take some 'roids leading up to the contest. And Sammy Sosa needs to come back and show these Latin players how to display charisma and work the crowd

That HS kid is committed to TCU, but plays his tourney ball here in CS. The crazy thing is that he's really a pitcher though.

Depends. For kids the hr derby is still exciting.
Yeah, I've got 1st and 5th grade daughters (softball players, baseball fans) that enjoy it. They are the only reason I watch it.
