Doesn't look like it will make much a difference in the difficultly of induction, so I'm okay with it.
I don't want them to make such sweeping changes that the standard really gets changed.

Fine by me. If you can't make it in 10, I see no reason to prolong it.
I would be fine with a ten or fifteen percent threshold in regards to staying on the ballot.
They also tightened up the eligibility and rules for voters, which is a somewhat petulant reaction to the Deadspin "scandal" last year. If the BBWAA had any huevos, they'd let the fans have a ballot.

this also looks like an attempt to get the known 'roiders off the ballot sooner...to remove (or lessen) that annual talking point...that overshadows the players who actually get elected.

They should lower it to 1. You either are or are not. Nothing changes.
I heard Buster Olney on the radio, and he brought up a good point. The BBWAA didn't change the ten player limit. In the long run, that will likely mean bubble guys will not get in, between having less time on the ballot and having to compete (as before) with new guys every year.

Nah. Not all Hall of Famers had equally great careers. The 'first ballot' is a way to separate the great greats from the greats.

I don't think anyone has trouble telling greats from the Goats.
Even then just do it 2 years.
It won't matter until they get the writers out of it. Biggest joke in sports.

Agree with mazag. The voting process is incredibly dumb.
