and it says there both pitchers pitched the whole game, each throwing 600 or 700 pitches in the game over those few days. Great accomplishment by both pitchers to hold up that long. Major league pitchers don't reach near that, before throwing it in.

Not the act of throwing all the pitches. The fact they still had control and anything on it. Major leaguers stuff starts to flatten out after 100.

I saw a 22 innings Dodgers at Astros game back in 1989. There was a 14th inning stretch and a 21st inning stretch!
