Kauffman is awesome. A friend works for the Royals and told me that every seat row curves towards the infield. So when you sit, you're facing the infield. You don't have to turn your head to see the pitcher/batter. It sucks for maintenance though b/c whenever a seat breaks, they have to custom fabricate brackets, etc. to put it back the same.
I don't agree on the downtown ball park. They cost a ton of money and the taxpayers never, ever get it back. Look at Minute Maid, the area immediately around it is OK, but 3-blocks East is a crap hole. Parking is not that great either.
That being said, the existing location of Kaufmann is not that great. There is nothing out there and nothing to do before a game. You drive out, maybe tailgate, go to the game, and go home.
Still can't believe what happened on Tuesday night.
Our CEO sent out a note yesterday and told everyone to wear jeans and Royals shirts (even t-shirts) to work Thursday and Friday!
