I'm an Astros fan but this is a really good book. The 86 Mets team is one of the most entertaining teams of all time, so many side stories.

Come on, don't any of you read? I'm always looking for suggestions for good baseball books.

I've got a couple I can think of off of the top of my head.

Whatever happened to the Hall of Fame? by Bill James is a fantastic read. For someone who loves the BBHOF, it shoots holes in a lot of the arguments of player's candidacies while really boosting others.

The Last Good Season is a look at the 55 Dodgers. It does a really good job of weaving the stories together of what was going on with the changes in Brooklyn at the time, individual player's stories, the behind the scenes drama of O'Malley trying to get a new stadium/squaring off with Robert Moses/talking to Los Angeles all intertwined with the narrative of the results of the actual season.

Ball Four by Jim Bouton

This is a classic baseball book, and should be a must read for any literary baseball fan. Extremely funny.

Comeback by Dave Dravecky

Think Josh Hamilton esq. inspirational without the drugs.

Fantasy Land by Sam Walker

If you like to play fantasy baseball, this should be a must read.

The Last Nine Innings by Charles Euchner

This is an indepth look at the physics and anatomy behind baseball. I really enjoyed this, plus it covers one of the most memorable World Series Game 7 for me.

There's a good Mickey Mantle biography. Actually, I'm sure there are several. But I think the one I've read is The Mick.
