He needs just 61 hits. The 3000 hit plateau has been a sacred milestone in my lifetime.

It's going to be real interesting to see if he's still treated as a villain or whether they'll cover him with fawning adoration like they did with Jeter a few years ago.

Oh yeah, he's about to pass Willie Mays in HRs, too. Kind of a big deal.

I don't think there is any question on how he's going to be treated. And it won't be pretty.

He has to make a roster to get those 61 hits.

Hard to collect those hits in November, lots of things change between now and April. He wasn't very good two years ago and sitting out an entire season isn't going to help him regain his steroid form

Are you really comparing how ARod will be treated to how they treated Jeter?

Better than expected but not excellent.

How? Biggio got a 30 second clip on Sports Center the night he hit it and was on the front page of the Chronicle only. The spent the whole program last night detailing A-Rod's journey to 3,000. Yes, they had commentary saying it was tainted, but the publicity was still there. Then you get Biggio missing the HOF voting for 2 years. I realize A-Rod will not be voted in, but they are still "respecting" his accomplishment.

There are more Yankee fans than Astros fans. Arod had been in the news all year due his achievements. I'm not sure why you don't understand why Arod is getting more air time.

If they truly think the feat was tainted, they wouldn't give it airtime.
