I met him several years ago at a benefit where he was the honored speaker. At the after party, I got to sit and listen to him, Orlando Cepeda and (I think?) Tony Perez shoot the bull in half English/half Spanish about the game, the good old days, growing up in the islands, etc.

Pretty cool experience.

He, like Ron Santo, will probably be voted into the HOF by the veteran's committee now that he has passed, which is a shame that they would wait that long.
