It is interesting that you're defending a HS coach for something that you would have trouble accepting if a select coach did the same thing.
I'm defending the high school coach because I don't believe for one second that he told his players to play for the batters box, or they won't play for the Brenham Cub baseball team.

The Brenham coach could care less who his players play for in summer and fall ball, as long as they are ready to go come spring time and they win. which they are currently doing
Do you believe or do you know?

Even if you don't believe it, some of us have framed our discussion hypothetically and you're still being an ass about it. You may suspect this is butt hurt dad...but I'll make my own guess and ask again, are you also a butt hurt dad? Or maybe you're a high school coach with an over-inflated ego? (Maybe you'll answer a question this time)

And you clearly seem to have a problem with a select coach hypothetically telling a player not to play for a certain high school or to play at a certain high school. You wouldn't have given that hypothetical if you didn't.

It happens in Austin. Players are told to play Fall Ball at School X. 6-7 years ago, they would sometimes choose to not play All-Stars lest they get blackballed.
