Anyone ever been on hof weekend? I'm heading up there to watch Biggio's induction next month. From what I understand, hotels in town are outrageous, and understandably so. Does anyone have any advice on towns to stay at within an hours drive? Is it worth going a couple of days early to hang around/meet players/ etc? I've heard mixed reviews .

I'm interested in hearing some feedback as well. I lucked out and had a buddy book us a room before the announcements were made, so we'll be staying in town Friday-Monday. There are a few breweries in the area, including Ommegang, that we plan to hit up. Other than that, not really sure.

i went a few years ago, and we flew into syracuse and made the 2+ hour drive to cooperstown. there are many cheaper hotel options there

I didn't go for induction weekend, but went about a month after in '99 when Nolan/Yount/Brett/somebody else got in. We stayed in Alabany the night before and then stayed in a little shack of a hotel about 25 miles away. Plan to spend the whole day in the museum, not kidding.

I went last year with my brother (we were 24 & 21), and we camped at a park/campground about 25 minutes away. We drove from Ohio, so it was a lot easier to get our gear there, but if you don't mind camping it was a great deal.
