It's much easier when all you have to do is run and dive. The wall is what complicates things. Full speed toward the wall raises the level of difficulty.

I can't find a clip of it, but Ken Caminiti (RIP) had a third baseman's version of the same catch one time. Lefty bloops one off his fists down the left field line. KC turns and runs straight back and catches it in very similar fashion to Edmonds. Edmonds' is better, though.
