His last few years on the radio were pretty roughy and he probably eeked out 2-3 years than he should have, but I would have LOVED to listen to him call games with Carlos Correa playing.
Holy Toledo, he will be missed
Definetly a voice that reminds me of being a kid again. Sad news.

They just showed his greatest calls on Root Sports - goosebumps. I was glad to make it to his last game at Minute Maid where he got a standing ovation at the end.

Not sure what your issue with him is. You've said this on two threads. I enjoyed listening to him growing up. Didn't ever have cable, so I would always listen to him and Alan Ashby call the games.

For those unaware Milo and Gene did not get along. I liked Milo but I do agree that Milo had a little Donald Trump ego in him. Gene was much more down to earth.

Sad to hear. I grew up in Beaumont, and we didn't have cable, so Milo was how I "saw" the Astros. Goodness knows he had issues with any number of people in baseball, but he was an excellent PBP man in his day. Thanks for the memories, Milo!

I have missed his voice on Astros games. I met him a few times when we sat in the 200 level right below the broadcast booth. He would always acknowledge my son and throw him something. Class guy. RIP Milo.

let me help out here...the front office / marketing personnel give the radio announcers the 'spots' to read. Milo's job was to read the promos that were handed to him (in between the game action)
one thing I always respected about Milo...he had the guts to call out the clown show that was Harry Carey -- that was not professional broadcasting (by Carey)
Don't know what crawled up your butt and died but Milo was a legend and was very well respected. I had the opportunity to meet him when I was little and our family went to Cincinnati to watch the Stros play the Reds. He went out of his way to talk to us and happily signed autographs for the fans. Take your hate out of here and be respectful.
