Astro's have good players and a great one in Correa. They need SP and RP help.

I havent watched them all year so no idea if their manager is cut out for it.


One of the Astros biggest issues is the Rangers are setup for a couple years with their current SP and RP rotations.

If we get a good RH OF bat in the off season... going to be another good year.

Astros chances the next few years will depend on how much money their front office is willing to spend in free agency and if their young rotation can have continued success.

The great thing about a young rotation is that, well, they are young and team controlled for a good period of time. The not so great thing about a young rotation is they haven't proven they can win consistently. MLB is full of young starters who had a great rookie season then fell off the earth.

Texas, Seattle and Oakland will all have strong rotations. Houston's rotation has the potential to be better than all of them, but also the potential to be worse than all of them.

Next, the clock is ticking on many of their players. 2018 the core of their team starts to be a FA, so they have 3 years after 2015.

You only get Cameron because of the pool of money you had. You finish in the Top half of MLB, your talent selection changes.

Here is how the Miami and Tampa and Oak strategy works. You have about 3 years to Win. At which time, you have to either spend money or dump players for talent. We'll know soon enough.

If it becomes increasingly likely they won't close the deal by 2018, they should start dumping players or they'll just have to change strategies. Caution for the strategies of the Phillies, Cubs, Angels, et al.
