If the Astros and Rangers can both avoid stepping on their respective d***s, there is likely to be an all Texas ALCS. Things are gonna get chippy. Fun will be had by all. Maybe hold off on the ban hammer and let everyone enjoy the talk. This isn't exactly a high volume board. Let's go Rangers!

Astros, take care of business. Let's do this. You've got Keuchel next game so you've got two games to win one. Rangers have three to win one. This is going to be epic if we can all get it done. I'd really like to see this one.

The point? Maybe chilling out on banning any and all posts on respective threads given that both teams are looking good. There seems to be a bit of a hair trigger on any and all talk between fans not confined to one thread. It's probably time to let it go a bit. I think everyone is going to have a whole truckload of fun if that series come to fruition.

Don't care at all actually. I'm more a Rockets fan than the Mavs. I grew up with the Rangers and Cowboys, but I moved to Houston before I got into basketball in middle school. Still not a big basketball guy but, like I said, the Rockets are who I'd root for if I picked a team.

I like the recent interest in MLB\Other Baseball.

For some of us, who have posted here all season, baseball isn't just an September\October season and it isn't just a sport we follow when our team makes the playoffs.

Please don't turn this into a OR Forum or a Basketball Forum. I don't like Rangers fans talking trash on the Astros thread anymore than I like Astros fans piling trash on the Rangers Forum.

If someone wants to grab their crotch and wave it at the opposing fans, then find the Basketball Forum. If you want to talk trash about a city\people\fan group... I invite you to OR.

If you've posted 20 times in MLB\OB from May through August (120 days), but have posted 60 times in the last 25 days (32 were yesterday), you really don't have credibility on this board to start dictating to Staph who should and shouldn't be banned.

Keep the board a baseball board.

I try to avoid discussions like these, because it makes the people complaining look like a bunch of elementary kids in time out. But the reason most (notice I said most) Rangers fans get banned on our thread is because they go over there to cry/lol and talk chit about the Astros after we lose, etc. That's why we made the smack talk thread, and that's why we have old rivalries. Keep that kind of stuff in the correct threads and there will be no issues. If you wanna talk baseball, series breakdowns, etc etc, feel free. But understand which thread you are on before you post.

Can someone explain to me how making it to the ALCS would constitute a "ruined" season? We are talking about the Astros here and not the Yankees, Cardinals or Dodgers. OK the fact that the franchise was moved to the American League is still a disappointment but a postseason run to the Championship Series coming off the most painful stretch in franchise history constitutes pretty nice season in my book even if I have to endure self proclaimed life long Rangers fan and their POW POW BS.

And that is the problem with a least some of the Rangers fan base, they rather win to trash talk then actually have the thrill of winning. Not saying an all Texas ALCS would not be fun, but winning an AL Pennant would not be made iota sweeter for me because the 'Stros happened to eliminate the Rangers. Given time maybe I'll eventually see the Rangers as a hated rival, which would be great because that would mean both franchises were in contention most years, but right now I don't care who the team faces in the ALCS or WS if they happen to make it that far.

Ehh, it goes both ways. There are plenty of Astros fans who would get extra enjoyment if the astros were the team to knock off the rangers. I believe there are plenty of comments in the Astros thread to back up that assertion.

I honestly have very little issue with the Astros. I used to root for them in the national league. I have some prized Nolan Ryan cards from when he was with the Astros. I never realized there was any kind of animosity between dfw and Houston until I went down to A&M for college. It was surprising to me to see the way some people from Houston talked about dfw and the local teams.

It's hard to root for Houston now that we are in the same division though. This year has been fun and a true rivalry could be brewing with the way the teams are playing. From a Rangers fan perspective we want to play the astros in next series. Not for bragging rights so much, but because we we have a great record against the Astros this year.

We probably have a better chance of advancing against the Astros than we do against the Royals. Having said that it would be tough to get a win down in Houston. Y'all play really well at home. It would be a fun series.

Let's see.. Diasstros spent most of the season in first place (ALW). At one time I believe y'all had the best record in the AL. I guess being pumped about a wild card just goes to show you, not just how awful that team has been but also how long

Thank you for making my point this was more about trash talking then enjoying the Rangers winning the division. Yes the 'Stros did spend a significant amount of time leading the division this season, your point would have been valid if the team had established talent like the Angels however the 'Stros are comprised mostly of very young and very raw talent which tends to be quite streaky. I'm thrilled that Astros are back in the postseason after a 10 year hiatus and more so after the truly painful last five. There are 22 other MLB teams (23 if you want to count Toronto that is behind the eight ball right now) that would gladly be in the spot where the Astros are right now even if it was achieved via the wild card. Now a few years from now and this is the high point of the Astros rebuilding effort, I'll see things differently. As for this season, I'm going to enjoy the ride as long as it last.
