Anybody know if this is getting any closer to being an option?

MLB blackout rules make it very difficult to get the Astros in the Austin area on DISH. Sure would be nice to figure out a way for this season!

The Texags dish rep posted on the premium board last April that it was going to happen but he wasn't sure how soon. I would say since we are 10 months removed from then and there's still no news, don't hold your breath.

I'm switching to directv soon.

I was afraid of that.

The truly frustrating thing is, I'd be willing to get the MLB package through the AppleTV but they black out the Astros!

There are new blackout rules this year on MLB. TV. I'm not sure of the details but worth double checking.

Just get MLBTV and use a proxy.

Fox sports is testing out eliminating the local black outs for MLB tv, I.E. getting to watch the Rangers in Texas, live. But AT&T owns Root Sports so they're not part of that test. Sadly the Astros are still subject to all the black out rules.

Just bought my annual MLB.tv for the Cubs. Have a new option for only $85 for access to one team. Great deal. Sorry Astros.
